I love the 10 commandments

RE: I love the 10 commandments
The thing that Bel seems to ignore is that if it were so obvious that God exists, and if it were so obvious that the teachings of Christianity held some truth within them that we must or should know, it wouldn't require people to be selective in their apprentices or students. It would simply be common sense and plain. But it isn't; Christianity is a mass of entangled stories, some that have nothing to do with one another, some that contradict one another, along with a huge mess of other issues to consider.

This idea that for one to truly understand Christianity they must study it for years and years on end is just garbage. It's a funny coincidence that when one holds the view that opposes Christianity, people will simply reply with "oh you just don't understand the Bible yet."

They like to act as if it is truly impossible to fully understand the Bible and still disagree with the messages therein.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

Which 10? There are well over 100

Now FSM's 10 'Rather you wouldn't' is a list to live by.
"For the only way to eternal glory is a life lived in service of our Lord, FSM; Verily it is FSM who is the perfect being the name higher than all names, king of all kings and will bestow upon us all, one day, The great reclaiming"  -The Prophet Boiardi-

OK. But I'm not.

If you go to your local university and ask to join the advanced class that translates classical Chinese poetry, they have the right to deny you entrance if you don't have the prerequisites.

If you apply for a job at the nursery school, they have the right to deny you employment if you are of proven bad character (e.g. child rape convictions).

Kabbalah is administered in a similar way and has nothing to do with government.

Secular requirements for a job or a university position are manifestly different from revealed truth from a supreme Being.

If you think the Kabbalists had nothing to do with the governance of the Hebrew state, you should read up a bit.

Nice job chopping off the relevant bit of my post when you quoted me, btw.  Try not to do that again.

Its common practice for nutballs to limit access to their deepest mysteries, true. You have to pay your way into "Operating Thetan", like Tom Cruise, before scientology teaches you how to fly.

I guess you just can't trust the plebes with stuff like that.

Bel...lol, just go to church, man. If you devote years of your life to that very..very serious study..you might even be able to turn crackers and grape juice into flesh and blood. Fuckin kabbalah? Red strings and numerology. Really elaborate magic that doesn't work any better than sticking pins in Raggedy Anne. I can see why they limited access to that WMD. Wouldn't want a bunch of Honis drawing circles in the dust willy nilly.

Hey I get you Cepheus Ace, nothing more ridiculous than letting a fictional character (like Moses) dictating you how to behave.
It's like people following Hogwarts rules in their life.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

17 “Do not make any idols. (2)

19 “The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock. 20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons. (4)

Unless you have a physical limitation that prevents you from doing so, please use capital letters where they belong and try to toss in some punctuation here and there. Spell check would be a plus.

Otherwise you read like the screaming, uneducated, pain-in-the-ass that you most likely are.
