I think the grand irony, in this one, is that hunger is driven by the same consumer trends and purchasing disparity that makes veganism a profitable niche for producers in specific markets. I've got a nice life on account of vegan customers, but none of that money or food went to some starving nigerian. That's not how that works.

No it might make me run out and buy a (lamb) steak. That's the point arewethereyet (The Simpsons!) misses the point. If you could show me that what I believe atm is basically BS I will cease to be vegan. As I say I have the cravings to eat meat I believe every vegan does.

That's a dilemma for you to solve, not me, and it doesn't have anything to do with world hunger. You either object to eating meat, however tasty it might be, or you don't.

Unless you live far from a grocery there’s truthfully no reason to hunt. Now mind you I’m in no way defending hunting, chasing after a helpless animal with a long range weapon to kill it at nice safe distance just so you can have a different variety of meat or to mount it’s head on your wall is sick. That’s not hunting it’s butchery. And to be honest vegans aren’t anymore ethical than anyone else. The displacement of native people and deforestation for farm land grows just as much of the food that vegans consume. Not to mention a vegan diet is totally inaccessible to anyone on a low income (like myself) or who lives in a food desert. So I truthfully wish vegans would stop lying about how they’re lifestyle is more ethical. It’s not. It’s a choice. Like any other. Not to mention they’re basically shaming hunter gatherer societies, and the poor. My own grandparents lived in Chickenscratch Arkansas, and were in the middle of nowhere. No electricity. A well pump. And outhouse. You couldn’t truthfully tell that it was the 21st century other than my Poppy’s truck and his town car my parents bought him for his 70th birthday.

Meh, it would depend on where you get your meat...and your vegetables from. Mixed veg and grain producers fly under the radar of ethical scrutiny. It's a great advantage they have when marketing to trends.
No one stops to wonder how many animals (including people) had to die for all that fertility, tilth, and transportation. It's just plants, after all. It's a pretty hot topic in alt ag research, though.,.currently, none of the viable solutions would suit a vegans ethics. Once you start to wonder how to make food legitimately sustainable and good for the people, plants, and animals..you start to realize that the model is already staring us in the face.
That good ole circle of life. Livestock produce a waste stream that fertilizes plants, and plants process the inputs required for livestock. Simple in principle, difficult to manage.

You know, there are studies that show plants respond to pain and outside stimuli.
Animals in the wild have the advantage if being abl to run away.

My position still stands if you have only 50$ a month for groceries and a vegan meal cost 12$ why would I a poor person buy that? Especially when I would have to go outside my neighborhood which cost more money because I cannot drive. So a single vegan meal would cost me 20$ in transportation and 12$ for the meal. 1 lbs of chicken thighs is 1.29$ So unless you have some magical way to make 5$ out of 10¢ I don’t see where you’re coming from.
