Neither your god nor your prophet could manage to get that very basic precept right, so anachronism is precisely what your religion is.

You missed the interesting part : Aisha wasn't a child.

What else do you call a 10 year old girl?

If there is substantial evidence in support of a particular truth claim, then my confidence level in that truth claim will be high, and belief is generated. I cannot choose to believe in god any more than you can choose to believe in Santa Clause.

I think we agree.  Belief is chosen through faith in experiences, knowledge, and evidence gathered.  What an individual considers sufficient evidence is where we start to differ.  We both could agree that what we call wind exists.  We can feel the effects of it but we can’t see it.  There is some evidence missing regarding wind (sight).  We still choose to believe it exists because we can see the effects of the wind and feel it.  Your belief in science and mine in creation are similar.  There is evidence for both but the argument always goes to what evidence is.

Attempting to conflate the nature of scientific evidence with whatever it is you consider to be evidence for god won't work, because they simply don't have enough in common to be comparable. I think you underestimate how well we actually understand what wind is and how it works. We understand it so well, in fact, that trained professionals can make consistently accurate predictions about how and when it will behave:

Quote:In meteorology, winds are defined based on their strength and direction. Short and violent high speed winds are known as gusts while strong winds over extended durations are known as squalls. Highly violent and longer-duration winds are linked to various names such as storm, gale, and hurricane. The pressure difference arises due to temperature changes and varying climate zones across the planet.

The rotation of the earth is also a significant contributing factor as it brings about what is termed as the Coriolis Effect. Wind is an important agent of seed dispersal. Contrariwise, strong winds can cause major destructions to buildings and plants, the spread of wildfires, and leads to soil erosion.

Could you please provide the detailed mechanisms of action for how god acts?

Classic pseudo scientific approach.

So your saying I have a classical approach?  Nice!

It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

A Mohammed condom.

He wasn’t having sex with her. He was wearing her for protection!

To be fair, how old you think Aisha was depends largely on which sect of Islam you follow. The Sunni want it to be more miraculous that she was able to transmit the Koran, so if she's still a child, extra ++ miracle! The Shia aren't invested in her being so young, and they tend to think she was 5-15 years older at the time. Aisha's age is not in the Koran, it's in the hadiths, and they don't all agree.

Hopefully, someday the Sunni will decide to let the 'she was just a child when she transmitted the Koran' thing go and remove the religious basis in some Sunni-majority countries for child marriage; though other Sunni-majority countries seem to manage just fine on the 'just because Mohamed did it doesn't mean you have to, who do you think you are, Mohamed?' reasoning.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
RE: Time to embrace Islam!
Islam is not for decent people, like:

“Men are the maintainers of women, because Allah has made some of them to excel others...” (4:34)

Any healthy woman should vomit here. Women (and decent men!) need stand up against the blatant misogyny within Islam.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Thank god christianity, judaism and hinduism have no misogyny cause then women would be screwed.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Pretty much against the misogyny in any religion.

Ironically, the Quran says:

Quote:Sura 3, The Quran:
http://quran.ksu.edu.sa/index.php?l=en#a...rans=en_sh

( 195 )   And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated or were evicted from their homes or were harmed in My cause or fought or were killed - I will surely remove from them their misdeeds, and I will surely admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow as reward from Allah, and Allah has with Him the best reward."

The bible:

Quote:No. 9: “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22)

The talmud:

Quote:“A [wealthy] matron [of the Rabbinic academy] asked Rabbi Eliezer: ‘Why is it that there was one sin committed with the golden calf, and yet [we learn that] three punishments were meted out?’

[Rabbi Eliezer] said to her: ‘There is no wisdom in women other than the spinning wheel, as it is written: And all the women who were wise in heart spun with their hands (Exodus 35).’

[Rabbi Eliezer’s] son, Hyrkenus, said to him, ‘Why could you not answer her with some words of Torah? [Because she has been insulted] I will lose 300 kor in donations from her every year!’

[Rabbi Eliezer] said to him, ‘The words of Torah should burn rather than be taught to women.'”
