Predictions for the new year

My predictions for the new year:-
1- The pope will pray for world peace
2- It will have no effect
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Brexit will feature prominently in the UK news media...all fucking year long...yet again. Conversely, the rate of man-made Global Warming will continue to increase as the feedback mechanisms take hold and "fake news" based denialism will continue to flourish, keeping the issue on the back burner as far as news media goes....yet again. Governments all over the world will continue to refuse to ask the electorate to reduce consumption because of fearing the R word (recession) which carries stigma, seeking yet further economic GROWTH instead, again, which will further hasten Global Warming. Wealth inequality will continue to increase as the stone age "let the deregulated free market look after us! Liberty!" law of the jungle economic philosophy of right wing governments marches on.
Basically, it ain't looking good IMO.

Trump will not be convicted in the Senate. The Senate trial may not even occur. We will spend the whole year arguing about who has the upper hand there, mostly not in reality, but in terms of rhetoric.

Ok, I am really good at these. I’m currently running about 30%, which is better than a lot of professional psychics. So here goes.
1. A major land war (non-nuclear) will break out between India and Pakistan.
2. North Korea will announce that it is no longer interested in negotiating its nuclear programme. With anyone.
3. Joe Biden will win the White House in a landslide as America repudiates Trump.
4. Violence accelerates in Northern Ireland as Brexit looms ever larger.
5. There will be a major scandal involving the Disney corporation, regarding copyright infringement.
6. Stock markets around the world will collapse.
7. Artificial meat will make tremendous inroads into consumer markets.
8. Mick Jagger dies.
9. A major archaeological find in the Middle East will cast even more doubt on the idea of an historical Jesus.
10. Two new extant species of primate will be discovered.

The sun will set.
We will elect a President.
They will be corrupt, and likely downright evil.
And one political party will pule and whine about a "stolen election".
They will no doubt start impeachment proceedings.
