I was very surprised to discover that only 10% of the Nobel prize winners are atheist:

Nobel prize in what? You are aware it's more than one award right?

I had the notion/idea that people usually win a Nobel prize for scientific discoveries.
Like Albert Einstein for example, or Ada Yonath that discovered the structure of the Ribosome, or Dan Shechtman that discovered a new crystal structure.
Maybe I was wrong.

People get awarded for their contribution, not their religious beliefs. Most people are religious, therefore most of the people who get any award, for anything.....are religious.

That is inaccurate, scientists also contribute a lot to the world and most of them are not religious ...

Why do you think Nobel is only about science?
Why do you think science negates religion? People in all walks of life hold beliefs that should be causing cognitive dissonance, but they adjust and compartmentalize.
