In all honesty, Wall St, being the heartless sociopaths that they are, are panicking from an economics point of view which this may create more so than a humanitarian issue.
The last containers have left China for Iphones, 99% of everything from Walmart, Kmart, Target, BigW, Best for Less, Harris Scarfe, etc.

China can, in effect cripple the west and bring down the stock market. Which imo is likely to happen, if this isn't under control in the next 4 weeks.
A vaccine is 4-6 moths away at the very best. Others are saying 12-18 months

It would suck to watch our 401k take a hit a second time in a little over a decade, but the opportunity to snatch up more real estate at foreclosure pricing is juicy.

I think that chinas ability to cripple the us is a boogeyman. I suppose they could, if they wanted to commit national suicide in the process...but they don't seem to be run by a nihilistic death cult, like we are.

The panic over coronovirus will be over in a number of months.  There will be several thousand more fatalities, most likely, but it won't have a global impact that peolle are causing a panic about.

Remember around 60,000 people in the US alone die from the 'flu every year.

I honestly don't think there's a reason to panic over this outbreak.

Don't panic,............ the earth is just doing a little 2% to 3% house cleaning, which when you think about it is not that bad of a thing.

Unfortunately it's likely that my trust will take a 20% cleaning.

I heard a news report yesterday in which an epidemiologist said there’s a better than even chance that coronavirus could become a seasonal thing, much like ‘flu with annual mutations.

But I agree - it’s more a cause for concern than for panic.

I don't expect the virus to be that dangerous on a global scale if the fatalities are low, most deaths are in China and China has one of the worst polluted environments on earth:

The real danger people should never turn their backs to is not related to viruses like this Corona but to the shocking rise of Right parties:

Populism and ignorance are the real beast, and in 2020 you should fear this more than viruses like coronavirus; especially after knowing that some super-power economies are already in the hands of the Right -Trump-.

I’m not really concerned about the economic aspects, as long as no one finds the money-stuffed mattress (spare room, top of the stairs on the right) or the pickle jars buried in the back garden (halfway between the birdbath and the dead tree). 

I feel my future is pretty secure.

The saddest part here is that well established Chinese restaurants in NSW and QLD (been here 30 and 40 years) have shut due to fear.
There are no known cases in the wild here but people still won't risk it! The risk is technically 0%. Fear will destroy our economy and livelihoods, not the actual virus.

Let's try to look on the upside of the coronavirus thing.  Eventually, there WILL be a vaccine. And anti-vaxxers won't take it. And anti-vaxxers will die of coronavirus.
