Official live update of spread of COVID19

161541 new cases today. We're going to blow right past 200k, probably within the next two weeks if this trend continues.
My Commandress and I are staying at the house for the most part. Putting new flooring in the living room- exciting shit like that. 
Note - nobody is talking about the election causing the current upswing in reported cases.
Somehow - nobody knows how - but somehow "righteous causes" like protesting in a crowd or lining up to vote don't spread viruses..... 
Sadly, Biden's happy dancing, partying supporters are no different ... The virus also appreciates their efforts tremendously ...

Oh I know, I know OLB. Now that we're all done criticizing joe for not holding hate rallies on account of not wanting to spread the plague, we'll take his supporters to task for protesting..or..gasp, voting, against a president who decided that he wasn't going to make any attempt to deal with the plague.
I guess we just have to think of the margins. Getting rid of government committed to doing nothing may have cost them lives, failing to do so..more.

Surely we Americans are capable of some response beyond political finger-pointing.
My Commandress and I have been hiding in the basement since March. Not that I'm terribly worried about the bug myself. But just about everybody in my family has some kind of health issue that doesn't play well with this bat-virus. They may catch it, but probably not from us. Can you imagine bringing that bug home and killing a parent or grandparent? That's going to happen to thousands of people- probably has already. And some of them will be bright enough to notice. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is your way of criticising both sides of the political aisle, since it's the left (and the Dems) who've been pushing for mail-in voting for precisely that reason. That said, the evidence that the protests helped spread the virus is actually shockingly slim. Why, yes, I'm actually surprised by this, too.

Granddaughter is on her second quarantine this school year. We are trying to work out if there will be a gathering for Thanksgiving or if we just avoid being in the house with cootie girl.
