An unvaccinated teacher who periodically removed her mask to read to students started a COVID-19 outbreak at an elementary school in Marin County, California, that eventually infected 22 students and four of their parents. Genome sequencing revealed the strain behind the outbreak was the Delta variant.

Saw a YouTube video (can’t be arsed to look for it) in which a woman read right off the ivermectin label, ‘Do not give to horses, intended for human consumption.’ 

The guy commenting on the video pointed out that she added a comma. The actual label reads, ‘Do not give to horses intended for human consumption’, which is a whole different meaning. In other words, this stuff is so bad for humans, don’t give it to a horse you intend to eat.

Ivermectin, by the way, is formulated for humans in some cases. It's a drug that's at the center of the eradication efforts for river blindness, and has resulted in the eradication of guinea worm in humans. It's a big deal.

I know it’s used for humans (most frequently for skin parasites), but the rampant, unstoppable, juggernaut of ignorance employed by the people using it for COVID seems to prevent them from understanding that the dosages for livestock are measured in milligrams per kilo of body weight, while the dosages for human are in micrograms. And these mouth-breathers are taking it by the teaspoon.

The "you don't even have to think about it" crowd are acting like experts just as much. Everyone who's saying the vaccines are completely safe, are lying. We know nothing about the long term effects at the moment. The sticky spike protein in the vax is potentially dangerous, and it's entirely rational for a young person with no health conditions to choose not to get it. People like Sam Harris are bringing doctors onto their shows to shit talk people who won't get the vaccine and to shit talk people like Bret Weinstein, but Sam Harris most recently brought on a very compromised doctor who was just putting down the lab leak theory. A compromised doctor who has been very wrong just recently, so why the heck would any vaccine hesitant person listen to someone like him who keeps getting it wrong?

I finally got the vax a couple of days ago. I thought it made sense to wait a while to do more research and take in more information. I didn't see any need to rush into a decision. No side effects for me over the last couple of days. I do not endorse the vax for other people though. Everyone should make their own decision after doing research. I have asthma though, so I finally decided to take the poison because of that.

I’m glad you did your own research. This makes you very valuable to the Forum, what with your electron microscope, sample processors, spectrographic equipment and whatnot. Are you with a university or did you do this research in private industry?

Funny thing: I watch a YouTube show called What the Fuck is Wrong With You, and while they do frequently have stories related to the pandemic (what with all the insane shit people are doing to avoid doing the basic shit necessary to keep the plague down), this week had one that really struck me (the second story, starting a bit less than 5 minutes in):





And Tara read one of the comments: Only in America can we have a vaccine for free and some motherfuckers would rather pay $10 to fake getting it. And somehow, a pharmacist (and one in Chicago, no less) can decide it's worth it to give people FAKE VACCINE CARDS. And you could get the same thing more or less for free with some card stock, a template (which is, I shit you not, available free for charge on fucking Wikipedia in a form that's more or less identical to the one I got the honest way), and a printer that can properly do double-sided printing.
