Hmm. When guys screwed up in boot camp, they just got "set back" some number of weeks, until they finally got with the program. I honestly think that boot camp was a cake walk, except for all the stupid in-your-face yelling, and the sleep deprivation. Little known fact- I overheard my company commander mention to some other recruits that the Navy allowed a recruit 6 months to complete boot camp. Those would be those Category IV educable mentally retarded guys. There didn't actually seem to be much in the way of forgiveness and sending people out the gate, in my time, though. That was in '73.

The archbishop is completely faithless.  He knows that the us military doesn't give a shit that some catholic witchdoctor has an opinion...and he knows that offering his opinion won't prevent the us military from vaccinating soldiers.  Turns out generals think that joes are for dying to bullets, not dysentery.  

-and yet, this servant of the prince of peace, with full knowledge, does this for no reason other than stoking culture war among his constituency.  These people are a plague on humanity.  A death cult. We execute people for less. It's funny, no matter how many thieves and murderers we might kill..there's still theft and murder...but if we strangled these useless shitters...we'd end an entire category of crimes against humanity.

Or they wont, because of the political climate, but they'll die anyway. I got quarantined with a respiratory infection when I was in. These stupid pieces of shit would have refused antibiotics. Their own deaths wont even be the tragedy, that would be the people they kill from spite. As cruel as it sounds, we're better off for every numbnut seditionist who offs himself. They never deserved the honor of being a soldier in the first place. They don't care about other people, we shouldn't waste time caring about them, and we shouldn't waste our money training them.

Its not often that the enemy nixes himself, no need to interrupt when he's making a mistake.

Good news, one of my cabbies, who DID get the vaccine, but still got sick, is now back at work and she picked me up today.

The dangerous thing about the deniers, is that they  point out that people still get sick even after getting the vaccine and point at that as an excuse not to get it as in "What is the point?". 

Vaccines are not super heros or God/s. But they still work to a high degree. The intent of the vaccine isn't to be perfect, but to prevent the deadliest symptoms and affects that could kill you. In that context they are very effective. So she was out of work for a little over 2 weeks. She said she went through hell, but she also did not end up in the E.R. on e ventilator or intubated. Yea, she felt like shit, but the vaccine still protected her from the threat of death. 

My other cabbie also got sick, and she did not get the vaccine. She also spent a week off. She was lucky. The other part of the virus is that it also matters about the volume and variant of shed you might pick up. My bet is she was lucky that the shed she picked up wasn't high volume. It could be considered akin to being forced to take a shot of rum, vs downing 5 gallons of rum in 2 minutes. 

Both of them are fine now. But I was far more worried about Vickie who did not get the vaccine, and Susan, who did get the vaccine.

When my son was four years old (fully vaccinated) he also came down with pertussis.

I tend to be a heavy sleeper but having him tap me on the shoulder and wheeze that he couldn't get any air woke me up real quick. Very scary.

A ride in an ambulance was the high point for him and what he remembers. I remember being more awake than I had ever been in my life.
