The worst part of the pandemic -

RE: The worst part of the pandemic -
You know what’s also very likely to happen? And I know this because it’s exactly what’s happening in China, post-CoVID? Divorce rates are going to skyrocket because married couples are going to see far more of each other than they ever expected or wanted and they’re not going to like what they see in their spouses.

Fortunately, Alison and I don’t have that problem, because she’s a dakimakura and any qualities she has that don’t come directly from the two photos of Alison Lohman I used (or the physical attributes of the pillowcase and pillow) come directly from my mind.

Camus would agree!
And so would Sartre.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Concussion: What you give yourself when you realise that Donald Trump's response to this pandemic is to race-bait, downplay its severity long past the point where it becomes clear that this is far worse than the flu, blame the states for failing to prepare for it, refuse to take responsibility for firing the team that would have helped contain the issue, and acting like the mayor from Jaws because he cares more about the economy than the fact that people are dying, and despite all this, he STILL gets his highest approval ratings since his inauguration.

... and that it's becoming clear that the issue of whether millions of people die is now just another partisan issue.
