Population control

Just when the government decides to close Planned Parenthoods all over the country.
Free, or greatly reduced price, and readily available birth control would help a lot. That said, there is still a segment of the population that sees birthing babies as a religious decree or have some other reason for having baby after baby after baby. When you have movements like those QuiverFull nut jobs all the free and effective birth control is of little use. (April 4, 2020 at 10:31 am)onlinebiker Wrote: We need to change the mindset. Best population control, everybody go gay.

People are actually practicing population control. For instance, average married woman in 17th century America gave birth to thirteen children.
And today it's rare that people have over three children, even over two is sometimes seen as weird, so people are doing something. But I do agree that conservatives are pretending like there is nothing happening and go batshit crazy when someone mentions "population control". Reason why people are having less children is because people live longer and have more chances of surviving childhood. For instance, there is a data compiled in 1790 by Dr. Benjamin Rush, the prominent physician, that indicate how of a hundred people born in a given year in Philadelphia more than one-third died before the age of six and only one-quarter lived beyond the age of twenty-six.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Sure but imagine if couples still had 13 children on average, it would be far worse.
Perhaps what people should be doing was to it less or eat better because if you look at US, most people are overfed but at the same time nutritionally deficient. And it's taking its toll on the living conditions that planet provides for us, to be eating all that food people don't need.

There's a "televangelist", (Genesis II Church of Health and Healing) who is prescribing bleach as a cure for Covid-19, ranting away at callers and people visiting his website. He's been given a "cease and desist" order by the FDA, 48 hours to comply. He's a nut, sure. But I just have to consider that maybe it's just more bleach in the gene pool, were it not for the human toll on the survivors of the deceased.
