Palm Sunday Traditions
Here is my question of the day:

Have you got any special memories of the Palm Sundays of your childhood?

Quote:On Palm Sunday, April 11, 1965, Indiana was one of six Midwest states to be raked by deadly tornadoes. In all, 47 tornadoes killed 271 people and injured over 1,500. This was the fourth deadliest tornado outbreak in U.S. history and the deadliest of all Indiana outbreaks.

I remember it being bloody boring. Mass in the morning, then going visiting, then Mass in the afternoon (the one with the processional). The only bright spot was sneaking back to the church the next day and getting the palm fronds out of the bin. We'd strip them and use them for play swords.

Can't say I recall it being much different from any other other Sunday service other than the addition of kids batting around palm branches and making lightsaber sounds.

I didn't give a shit about Church other than going and pining after a girl there. Church was boring to me.

Interesting comments so far! Cool   Angel

What I remember pleasantly is the blessing of the little holly trees that were used as stand-ins for real palm trees.  Heart
