Bacon can be made to cook itself if you light it with a Ronson.

I have done the bake in the oven method...takes some monitoring but much less splatter.

Of course, then the fat rendered off is put in a container for use later frying eggs or potatoes. Yummmmm.

BTW, if you don't already know you can snip the edges that bulge (pucker) with kitchen scissors and it will lay flat.

I cut the strips in half if I am going to fry it. Doesn't curl that way.

We must be using different bacon.

But I fry whole strips and use hoagie buns for BLTs.

The wife made 15 bean soup the other day. I was making my bi-monthly bacon and eggs breakfast and she took a handful of the bacon crumbles and put them in the soup mix. Hungry

There's some left over, it's what's going to be for dinner, but I'll probably throw in more bacon, at least in my bowl. Naughty

I add diced ham and chopped up onion. Bacon bits I haven't tried yet.

I sure hope this plan for breakfast for supper goes better than so far. I baked some potatoes to slice up later and fry. I took out the first one and poked it with a fork to be sure it was done and it exploded showering me with hot, fluffy potato bits...and all over the inside of the oven door, the front of the dishwasher, and the floor. And yes, I did poke them before baking. Now I have to clean out the oven when it cools down. Yeesh.
