As far as I can see it is an issue with Semantics only. As for the "legalisation" of a union so as to make it smoother for the partner left behind...there seems to be no issue. I dunno, Kichi. Fish and chips is pretty good grub. A good pasty is pretty good grub, too.
Not that there are any vegetables to be found in such things, or that there are not a million grams of fat in them, or that they aren't starch fests ... but they taste damned good.
Trying to update my sig ...
Is Shepard's Pie considered English? There's a pub in Winston Salem that makes a first rate one.
I think it is, and there are some good ones here, too. LOL, although there can be evidence of peas in them, they, too, tend toward starch and fat fests. They taste damned good, too. So do pot pies, and some of those even have an onion or two and maybe a hint of a carrot.

http://www.foodtimeline.org/foodpies.html It would seems that "English Cuisine" is either wrapped in Pastry or boiled to within an inch of edibility. http://www.information-britain.co.uk/rec...l.php?id=1 FTW "The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest."
