Economic depression

Economic depression
What I´ve heared are we in a economic depression. Nothing spurising since you cant get a job, people loses there jobs, companies get bankrupt and the unemployee ratio is higher then ever.

I belong to the unemployed group and the chance for getting a job is quite low. The most things that make me angry that those people responsible for all this have not been affected, but others have.

I think they should be put in jail, its a huge error for those who should have seen this and maybe knew what was coming.

Fortunate do I live in country which have a strong welfare. I cant emagine how people in the USA can live without it. Sure the people who have jobs and money have no problem, but for those who havent how about those? Specially in a time like this.

Boom and bust ( where we are now ) are recurring symptoms of capitalisim ( global capitalism today ). Of course, the people who get hurt are those at the bottom of the heap, not the fat cats at the top.
You are lucky to be living in a country with good welfare provisions and it's very noble of you to pity the folk in America who are suffering at this time. Thing is, America is the capital of capitalism, so not much will change until the system changes.
Socialism.....the next big thing, coming your way in a few centuries!

I'm happily employed in my union protected and government job with all those happy benefits. I was fortunate to land a good job before shit went crazy.

RE: Economic depression
I know that those in america who are unemployed dont need my sympathy. Tthey need a job or a goverment, a society willing to help them.

This crisis will probably be a oppertunity for religions to get more influence. Churches will perhpas reach out and help people and with that get more followers. Christianity will strenghten its position in the community maybe not only in the USA but maybe in other countries. Even tough they may do it for a good cause, will they take advantage of people who are weak for the moment so they can grow bigger. Something they allways done no matter wath crisis or disaster it is.

Fortunate you were Eilonwy. I will be unemployed next week, due to my contract end-date which *cannot* be extended for the prime reason that there is a complete government staff freeze in NSW, Australia at the moment (along with several other states). Interesting how government employees above a certain level will be immune to the effects, I have to question would the government run any worse should those senior managers lose their jobs? It seems more a manner of covering their own backsides, while those of us lower down must deal with the consequences.

Oh God, you don't have to make us feel even *more* depressed!
