VOTING INSTRUCTIONS: Either you support gun ownership or you do not. Example: If you support civilians owning a 12 guage shot gun but oppose AK-47 assault rifles (even if they are not rapid fire) then you would vote "I support it". If you oppose civilians owning any type of fire arm then you would vote "I oppose it".

If you post on this discussion, I only ask that you vote in the poll (either before or after discussion) as well so that we can see how this strong atheist community views gun ownership.

I like the idea of legal ownership of guns. Banning gun ownership won't stop people getting guns, if people really really want guns and the state prohibits gun ownership, they'll just turn to the black market in the same way many criminals do. At least if the state keeps a registry of gun owners there can be some minimal controls made.

I support it for the exact reason stated in the Constitution.

As a single woman living with another single woman, I support it because it's a great equalizer. So's our pit bull, but y'know.

Plus, I look hot holding a 9 mil.

Unlike the U.S gun ownership is not a big issue in Oz.

Only a small percentage of the population own guns.

I still think gun ownership should be registered and monitered.
