RE: Pornography - are you for or against it and why?

You know I see the world in shades of grey, Padilove.
My point is that people use sex all the time to get what they want. Some girls do it in a legit business setting. Some do it by marrying rich old men. Who is the bigger whore - the one who is honest about giving up her body or the one who pretends to do it through propriety?
For that matter, I still don't understand where the victim is for anyone who has consensual sex for the camera. You could call it non-consensual, fr0d0, because money is involved in that or prostitution. What do you think all the gifts and flowers and nice dinners are for a lot of guys? Unless you've met that one special person you want to shower with gifts for no particular reason other than seeing them smile, that stuff is just window dressing in order to get laid. Buy a girl drinks. Take her out for meals. You're still paying money to give her entertainment in order to get her to entertain you. Or the other way around.
I've known plenty of women who weren't attracted to men unless they had flashy toys. Had nothing to do with their looks. Hot man drives up in a regular sedan, oh well that's nice. Not so hot guy drives up in a Porsche.... "Ah, well, maybe I'll let him take me to lunch. Then the girls can see me riding in it. Oo...wonder what else he owns!"

Part of the mating ritual is securing a mate who can provide. Females respond to outward displays of wealth. This isn't selling your body to anyone who can pay. This is a healthy mating practice. You're not demeaning yourself, you're following a natural and healthy goal. To me it's plain to see the difference. One is honest and one is lies.
If you're seriously denying your nature and actually in it just for the money, then you are indeed selling your body/ buying a body. Same thing.
Pornography is the exploitation of people for money. That great and precious thing we call sex is perverted to the detriment of everyone involved. All of the consenting participants are abusing themselves.

Apparently not when it comes to the word "whore' and the morality of selling sex.
Some wives are whores because they marry for pragmatic reasons? Sure,so what? Not for me to judge them.
EG Do I judge Anna Nicole Smith? Of course not. HIM? Well,he was the proverbial dirty old man,but can't say I blame him.

Right, they exploit themselves... It's an agreement between people to exchange a service for money, because it's sex it's different? Hardly.

Want to do a little more than just assert it?
I know a girl who did a porn shoot, she really didn't seem like she was abusing herself.

We've been over that above VOID, and in very few posts. Exchanging services for money can be very different to selling sex. Selling services doesn't have to be to the detriment of your person.
If a person chooses to debase themselves, they are still debasing themselves whether they do so of their own free will or not. I can judge myself as debased for making such a decision.

How is having sex in front of a camera detrimental to a person?

False dichotomy; I oppose censorship. I actually don't care about pornography ,finding it tacky and boring.---However, erotica is a different matter entirely.Tigger likes erotica.
Which you won't get from 'The Wife' is our point...because she is 'The good little woman'.

The only difference between them and my girls is that my girls gave a man his money's worth." - Polly Adler
Mmm, coming from an infamous madam,I think that qualifies as a self serving statement. It's also simplistic and judgmental. Just who does she think she is, Shere Hite? (and Betty Friedan has had her moments)
I have seen and heard of far too many women taking husbands and then two kids and six years later fleeces the decent man for all he is worth.... I am thinking that this whole concept of "The Wife is Good" and the "Prostitue is Bad" has been skewed by the abrahamic religions so that we now have this debate over Adult Pornography / (Or more correctly) Erotica. I DO draw the line at Child Pornography which I feel may be lurking in the back of peoples minds when they see the word Pornography and is definitely self serving and debasing

We've been over some of this, but you haven't yet explained why you think that people in pornography necessarily do so to their detriment, you've simply asserted it to be the case.
And selling sex doesn't have to be to the detriment of the person, they obviously think that the money they receive is a greater benefit to them than the act of sex on camera is a detriment, otherwise they wouldn't do it.

Im sure you can find a woman or man who is more than willing (and not stressed into it) to detriment themselves infront of the camera for money or for the sole purpose of just doing it. Sex is so complicated emotionally for something that really only takes a few seconds to accomplish.
