While I don't really get any kicks out of fake snuff films or abusive porn surely if there is a market for those things, and people want to see them then the fake, regulated, legal porn that the the porn industry makes is a better way for people to get their kicks? It's either that or force it underground where we can't control or regulate it at all. Banning anything where there is a demand NEVER works. People will still go looking for what they want, I'd rather they be getting what they want via a regulated porn industry (even if the content is borderline) produced by consenting participants than an underground source where the abuse and exploitation is going to be real and possibly lacking consent from either party.

My only problem is that we are a society that still has demands for those kinds of things. I can't make the demand go away and that's frustrating. I agree that prohibition never works. I've never once stated that I sought an abolishment of pornography, only that I couldn't support an industry with stardards and protections that supported theese morally abhorrent demands. I was expressing the possibility of legal porn, as an industry, regulating itself to the extend that it creates a distinct seperation bettween the more abhorrent sexual practices and erotica. Which categorizing porn categories as they do, easily circumventable age appropriate content restrictor, and having the budget of a huge industry yet lining the pockets of individuals rather than funneling some of that money back into the image of the industry is clearly not headed in the direction, IMO.

What is frustrating is people trying to supress a healthy sex drive. I'm not saying go out and rape till your heart is content. No, because we have a techno society and we are beyond that.. or at least are supposed to frown down on that. How many millions of years did our common ancestor, and even our your species up to today considered rape to be the method of procreation? Some of this stuff is hard wired into our brains, so even today we still see a great number of people doing such things. Those of you who think rape is merely a power play, you are only partly correct. Those who think rape isnt about having sex are deluding themselves. If it wasnt about sex, then why is the sex happening and the main focus of rape? Then again, this is about pornography..not rape..sorry about changing the topic.
rape is not healthy sex drive, neither is child molestation or physical abuse
![]() Which are on topic, no need to apologize. Yes it's about sex, the unhealthy kind. R you advocating an industry that encourages these unhealthy fantasies and urges?

But do you advocate an industry that caters to them, regardless of their historical inception? It was a simple yes or no.
Is providing a non-physical and non-prosecutable outlet (in the legal industry) for them worth fortifying the fantasies of rapists, pedophiles and abusers that eventually cross that line anyways? Aren't they just able to hide easier because of it? Is providing a non-physical and non-prosecutable outlet (in the legal industry)worth the encouragement of illegal enterprises to capitalize on their bolstering of demand? How many children exploited/raped/abused is worth 100 pedophiles getting their rocks off online instead of in person for 6 months?

It did nothing for me. In fact it pushed me away from the genre entirely. The idea of doing it against someones will doesnt appeal to me. As far as advocating "rape porn" (lets be clear that rape porn are conscentual actors hired to ACT like they are in the process of raping or being raped..in other words..it isnt rape), I dont advocate for it or against it. I am anti-authoritarian when it comes to social issues, so even if I am personally against something, it doesnt necesarily mean I want to make it illegal. Most people want to legislate their social issues and say "there needs to be a law".. I am one of those few voices who say "there SHOULDNT be a law..if you dont like it, then by all means DO NOT PARTAKE." |
