There's no clause in cap laws for specific models.

How about we just lock our guns up, like we're supposed to?
Nope... Not good enough.... If a gun that a kid is physically incapable of operating won't stop these kids from killing - a lock isn't going to stop them. They will just use whatever magic they used on the gun -on the lock.
So no guns for you parental types.... To suggest otherwise means you hate children!

What model, oh expert?
Because reading your posts makes my eyes hurt. The last time she shot was Dec. 7th, 2012. Not knowing some asshole was going to be pettifogging I didn't write the models down.

A lock might not stop everything, but that's no reason not to have locks on your doors anymore than it's a reason not to lock up your guns, in accordance with the law..when they're stored where a child can access them. If we want guns and kids, then we take reasonable precautions and follow the laws applicable to both. There's nothing difficult about doing this, at all, because in both cases the laws are veeeeery permissive.
No law, about anything, stops every infraction that the law is meant to preempt. Locking up our guns would help, and at the very least, it would give you legal cover, lol.

I've seen youtubes of gun safes being opened with the foil from a stick of gum. Don't count on a safe.

Better than nothing. I use a fire safe as an ammo locker. Birth certificates and bullets, lol.
If my kids pick my safe, and saw through the slide cables, and disengage the trigger locks, and find the keys to turn the nuts on the hammers...and load the rifle, and charge the rifle, and point it at themselves or someone else and pull the trigger....that will have been an absolutely implausible set of tragic circumstances for which I would face no legal exposure.
If they grab a gun off the counter and manage to cock the fucking thing...well, not so much.

Locking your guns up gives you "legal cover". What you want is legal indemnity from owning guns. Godsdildo Sama made it even more clear - he wants a gun range or gun shop to take ALL physical responsibility of gun ownership.....
What a chickenshit notion.
If you own guns YOU are responsible for them.
If you lock up all your guns - it's a real simple thing for a bad guy to steal them. He simply puts a gun to your kid's head and says "Open the safe".
You're fucked.
If only you had ready access to a gun.
Or - don't own any. Nobody says you have to own one.

Yes, OLB, locking my guns up gives me legal cover..because it shows that I am a law abiding citizen who takes responsibility of his guns and adequately cares for his children. Accidents can still occur, and if they do..it would be very important to show this if I wanted to keep my guns, my children, or my freedom. If dcf shows up and finds my pile of guns just laying out, there's going to be a problem. You aren't even supposed to leave the fucking tylenol out, lol.
In what alternate universe can this be a bad thing? In what way is this an unreasonable set of laws written by people who don't know shit about guns?
If someone wakes me up in the middle of the night with a gun to my head, or my kids heads..or just a gun.... and tells me to open the safe - I'll open the fucking safe. I'm not going to get into a firefight in my stick frame drywall house over the contents, or anything else. That would be insane. They can have the floorboards too, while they're at it. I'll load them on a truck and give them the keys. I would do absolutely anything to keep rounds from flying back and forth through my house - that's why I secure my guns in the first place.
