Basically reducto ad absurdum - I fear the world has basically gone mad....finally. Brave new world? I think not.

Please, these are two very different examples. Haven't read the article, and nor am I saying I agree with the ban, but I've seen both movies. Gone With the Wind makes it sound like black people were happy servants or something which was not historically the case. That might be part of what the deal here is. Whitewashing, I think they call this.

If I am understanding HBO's intent, it wasn't to promote the movie, but to show it, and comment after as to why the movie was a bad influence on society.

I think HBO intended to treat it like a Leni Riefenstahl piece.

I am so sorry I ever mentioned Leni Riefenstahl.

Frankly, I never thought much of that film, although I did get to shake hands with Butterfly McQueen in 1989.

Nobody was talking about you.

I was talking about the intent of HBO playing the movie then having a conversation about the movie.

NO WAY! That is awesome! Me envy. She was a huge critic of religion.

I get that, but since I mentioned her, you can't seem to stop bringing her up. And yet you never, EVER mentioned Riefenstahl before I did.  Interesting.

Boru, I don't know what thread you first brought up Leni in, but trust me, I didn't get the idea of her from you. There are many cable channels that focus on WW2.

Yeah, ok. Funny that you keep spelling her name right, though.  If you were doing it from memory, I'd expect you to call her 'Lenny Reef-and-stall'.

Boru despite what you want to think, there is a life outside this website.

You do know that in human history, independently and long before modern media, humans came up with constellations, patterns in the sky, without any connection with each other.

I did not learn about Leni from you.  I learned about her years ago from watching WW2 documentaries.

I met her at a Freedom From Religion Foundation convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
