Yes. The labels isn't the important part. The important part is the substance. If I didn't call what I believe in God some people would say it should be called God. If I do call it God then some people will say that it shouldn't be called God.

The point is that none of that matters. What matters is the actual substance of what I believe and not the label.

RE the OP - Winston Churchill is/was pretty well universally worshipped in this Country (England) due to his being credited with saving us from the Nazis and winning WW2. Yup, he had some crappy old-fashioned racist views but most people would probably say that, on balance, leave that statue alone. That's what those "statue protectors" thought anyway. There's also no real evidence I'm aware of that Tommy Robinson is a white supremacist. That "Huggy Bear" thinks it funny they were severely beaten and one had their head stomped on....well, perhaps he'll reconsider.

Do you have any evidence that Tommy Robinson is a white supremacist? I'm English and judge him to be a nasty piece of work, yes, but his beef is with immigrants, and Islam in particular, not genetic "race."

I'm not English but from what I hear is his problem with muslims stated after his sister married one. According to wikipedia he is or has been a white nationalist.

This isn't just an issue with the uk, but an example of looking for the last adversary or planning to fight the last war instead of the one in front of us today. There are white supremacists in britain, there are political parties that cater to british white supremacy. They're as out as out can be. They employ the same rhetoric and they use the same propaganda, to the same effect. They were very recently a canary in the coal mine when it came to our own white supremacist leanings in the states.
