I hear you on this topic I sold a car a few years ago and it is a process I will never go through again. I had a 15 year old suburban with no AC and some other minor issues, I was only asking for $500 because I wanted it gone, I ended up selling it for $150 because I just couldn't deal with the people coming to look at it anymore.

I sold three cars in a row for $500 to the first person who looked at them.

Ya you would think $500 for a working vehicle would be an easy sale but it turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. I will donate my car before I go through that again.

Yup.  I've sold enough stuff in my life that the idea of selling cars gives me the willies. I either donate them or trade them in.

Selling cars is easy - if you take a "no prisoners" attitude about it...

It’s even easier to ring up a local charity, let them haul it away, and take the tax credit.

Nope.

You do it your way.

I do it mine.

Fixing stuff at selling at a profit - indeed driving for free - appeals strongly to my capitalist sense....

Most people lose money on cars.

I don't.
