If churches were taxed there would probably enough revenue collected to cut personal income taxes by half or even eliminate them entirely.

I don't think churches or any other 501 © 3 organizations should be taxed as long as they follow the rules and stay out of politics. We're not enforcing the rules we already have in place; a LOT of churches would be taxed if the IRS required them to maintain the conditions of being 501 © 3 groups.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Churches ought to be taxed if all religions are false.
If there is a true religion then perhaps such a religion should be taxed ... perhaps not.
That's what I think.
I can imagine reasonable theistic arguments for both taxing churches and not taxing churches.
But I can't imagine a reasonable atheistic argument for not taxing churches.
That's my position.
