Muslims got another one with their honor killings by his own family:

An Iranian gay man was brutally murdered and beheaded by his family in a horrific “honour killing” after they found out he was gay.

According to reports, Monfared’s partner has revealed that he was murdered by his half-brother and two others. “Alireza’s killing as a result of his sexual orientation being stated on his military service [exemption] card has once again provided proof for our warning several years ago about the risks caused by the military service exemption process for gay Iranian men and underlines the need for legislation to prevent these safety risks,” activist group 6rang said in a statement.

The Iran International report stated further, “6Rang also wrote that it had warned earlier that the laws allow the law enforcement, judiciary, employers and educational authorities “to identify gay men with only once glance at the military service exemption card,” thereby depriving those “diagnosed” with such “depravities” from employment in government organizations and the private sector.”

the Persian website of the BBC had reported on May 7th that Monfared was in imminent danger from his family. LGBT are persecuted in Islamic countries, often by law, due to religious sanction against same sex relationships.

Republican lawmaker blocks measure honouring gay country singer TJ Osborne

According to a report from Variety, TJ was expected to be honoured in Tennessee with a symbolic gesture.

The chair of the House Republican Caucus, Jeremy Faison, stopped the bill from going forward. He went on to defend his stance by saying: “We have some concerns.”

Wales elects the world’s first openly non-binary city mayor

Owen J. Hurcum has just been elected the youngest mayor in Welsh history and the first openly non-binary mayor of any city in the world.
The 23-year-old, who identifies as genderqueer, agender and non-binary, was unanimously voted in by The City of Bangor Council following this year’s elections.

Hurcum previously held the position as deputy mayor and worked as a councillor for four years.

Following the news, the Bangor university graduate tweeted: “When I came out two years ago I was so worried I’d be ostracized by my community or worse. Today my community elected me mayor of our great city.

“The youngest ever mayor in Wales. The first ever openly non-binary mayor of any city anywhere. Beyond humbled, Diolch Bangor.”

Taking to Twitter, the popular entertainment company announced the arrival of the mysterious mutant hero.

“Introducing Somnus! The new mutant hero makes his debut this June in “Marvel’s Voices: Pride” #1, written by [Steve Orlando] with art by [Claudia Guirre] and character design by [Luciano Vecchio],” the tweet read.

The synopsis for the origin story describes the character as “a mutant who had an extraordinary impact on an X-man long ago.” The character has the ability to control people’s dreams “but he was never able to follow his own.”

So he basically has the same powers as Princess Luna from My Little Pony. I can already tell he's going to be either the effeminate gay sterotype or twink gay sterotype that has been done to death in media. Killjoys, Teen Wolf and Invincible is the only few media I can think of on the top of my head where gay men are depicted differently and honestly, realistically.

As a gay metalhead myself tho I'm still waiting for a gay metalhead to pop up in something.

NYC Pride organizers have banned police from Pride events till 2025

The organization revealed the policy in a newly released statement via their website and Twitter.

“Effective immediately, NYC Pride will ban corrections and law enforcement exhibitors at NYC Pride events until 2025,” the statement read.

“In the meantime, NYC Pride will transition to providing increased community-based security and first responders, while simultaneously taking steps to reduce NYPD presence at events.”

The organization also stated that these new policy changes were created to ensure safer spaces for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
