Seems like an odd way to split the baby. What if it turns out that intelligence is a physical characteristic? That some organizations of matter are smarter than others.
Would this put the "biblical view" in the position of having been demonstrably wrong? I'm not particularly interested in whether or not it is wrong, more in how committed we are to this proposition.
