Guns banned in Michigan State Capitol.
#21
RE: Guns banned in Michigan State Capitol.
I was with an older friend in LA one fine summer night. A guy popped out of the alley, wave a gun, and said, "Give me your shit!" I handed him a wallet (Government issue with a shiny badge) and dropped it. He bent down pick up. When he stood up he noticed 6-8 inches of steel sticking out of the side of his throat. I never knew my friend had a multi-tool. Cops asked if we had tried to stop the bleeding. My friend said "I was old and scared and my buddy was busy keeping me from having a panic attack." I tried not laugh. Cops were cool. The dirt bag was wanted for questioning in dozens of robberies and worse.

You will have a big problem.

I will have a gun.

Possible that I'd need one.  I think it's more likely that I'd find myself in a situation where I need a car or money or a fully charged cell phone or a cheeseburger or a flashlight or a condom or a pair of gloves or a screwdriver or any number of other, random items.

That being said, if, as you've admitted, you probably won't need one, why do you carry one?

It would be nice if I could have the kinds of video-game-physics, bag-of-holding going for me.

Same reaon I carried a flare pistol, whistle, VHF radio, life jackets and an hand bilge pump in my sailboat.

I probably would never need them - and indeed didn't.

But I would never leave the dock without them.

I don't question your methods.

Why do you question mine?

Because your methods tend to be more likely to result in someone innocent being shot.

I had a roommate who was the so-called "responsible" gun owner and she wanted to carry her gun with her everywhere.  Just in case she needed it.  She had a friend who pulled it on me because I caught her stealing from me.  Yeah, guns are dangerous and so are people who obsess over them.

In my immediate family - we have between us over 100 years of guns being carried. There has been no adverse firearm events of any kind.

You - have one irresponsible friend who allowed a thief unauthorized access to her firearm.

I don't need to get rid of my guns - you need to find more responsible friends.

Did Ashli E. Babbitt need to find more responsible friends?

Seriously?

I am responsible for the actions of the Capital Police (who shot her) because I carry a firearm?
