Add the two together and tell me what you find. How often do you see open carrry in Michigan?
I pay attention to such things. The answer is practically never.
Anyone carrying in the Capitol is doing so as a form of protest.
I thought you approved of protest.
Guess not.
Where did you get the idea that I approved of protest from?

I still don't understand people's need to carry guns all over the place.
Here's a little more of my background: From January 2014 to July 2016, I lived in one of the rougher neighborhoods in Houston. I was one of the only white people living in a very poor barrio (communicating was a bitch since I don't speak Spanish). Down near highway 45 and telephone road, for those of you who know the area. I often had to walk to or from work late at night. I had other times I had to catch a bus downtown and downtown Houston doesn't have a lot of police and does have a lot of unstable, desperate homeless people. I never felt the need to have a gun. If anything, I suspect a gun may have escalated things. Keeping a charged phone handy and staying aware of my surroundings kept me safe far better than any gun could have. I'd rather avoid violent situations, gun or no, and I've seen way too many gun enthusiasts who like to pretend they're some kind of urban commando. I'd rather avoid any kind of shooting over a shootout and, yes, even if you're going to be the ever popular "good guy with a gun," there's going to be a shoot out.
I've been binge watching Doctor Who lately. Know what I like about this show? He thinks his way through situations. He doesn't force his way through problems with force or guns or muscles. He's smarter than the other guy. That's so rare in media today and it's something I REALLY value. Why are we in a society where violence and aggression are valued more than intelligence and creativity?

It is a crime. It is domestic terrorism. You are an eager apologist for this shit.
That is the part that gun nuts don't get.
Yes you can own firearms within reason. But you cannot uses them to commit acts of sedition.

Anyone who thinks they can find life's solutions in a TV show has a tenuous grasp at best on reality.

A Keltec SU16C - 5.56.semi auto rifle - and I could LEGALLY - yes - legally carry it into the state capitol loaded. (Concealed)
It is a legally REGISTERED pistol. (In Michigan only. They used to require it as the folded length is under 30 inches - while still capable of being fired. The law has since been changed and you can no longer register one as a pistol. But - the registration won't change until I sell it. I probably never will.)
Nice, eh?

No.
It says we trust people who go through legal procedures to be good people.
It is not legal for a punk with no permit to carry a gun. Anywhere.
Hey there Onlinebiker!
What do you think of the new 'Keltec' P50 pistol?
Only seen still images m'self. The one of two in a user's hands seem awkward in their grip position.
Cheers.

I have not shot one yet - but it is kind of a cool concept... I doubt I would ever buy one. Factory ammo is pricey - and those minature bottleneck cartridges are too small for my gnarly old hands for reloading.
Let me know when they come out with a 10mm version..

My point is that I think compassion and intelligence should be valued more than prancing around with the biggest gun imaginable and pretending you're Rambo.

You really see a lot of that do ya?
I can't ever recall seeing that. I did see a guy who thought he was Rambo. Chuck. His real name - Charles Arthur Rambo.....
And I carry a .380 Ruger these days. About the size of a small squirt gun....

Not really the point.
....
This law simply proves that such laws are delusional.
How does not knowing who has a gun make an unarmed person safer?
It doesn't. It makes them FEEL safer - thus the delusion.
But that's par the course.
Your government passing laws that make you FEEL safer - while not making you safer - and sometimes LESS safe.
Enjoy the delusion.
I feel safer knowing that people with CWPs received training and had to pass a test.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
