I have cheered at some being banned (Greatest I Am), but unhappy that others have left us (such as Eleven). I enjoy seeing Brian37's personality. Working as intended. It's his job to ramble and be boring. Neither trump nor the gop wants anyone watching this. They would very much like for the senate to say that nobody gets the opportunity to hear him ramble and be boring. Honestly, the case he's trying to make is straight up distilled trumpism. He's insisting that if the former president is held accountable now, then specific elements of the republican party or the rising qanon caucus will enact political revenge in 2022 and 2024.
Challenge accepted, really going with a threat of round two in defense of round one? It's bold, fucking insane, but bold.

Second nutball lawyer suggests that holding trump accountable is the real insurrection, and that this attempt to hold him accountable will disenfranchise millions of americans. He's vry grrr about it all, and how they're doing unity wrong. Also threatening a second civil war.

This bit is only supposed to be about whether or not it’s constitutional to try a former president (it is), not whether doing so might have repercussions later on (it will, but not the ones the nutballs are expecting). And it doesn’t seem like a good legal tactic to threaten an insurrection when your client is on trial for inciting one. Boru

Worse, he's now complaining that the former pres hasn't received enough due process. This seems to be an invitation for the senate to try him and provide it. Or maybe the house should impeach him a third time? Or, maybe, a court should try him on criminal charges?
