The implications of Obama's words at the Charleston shooting memorial.

RE: The implications of Obama's words at the Charleston shooting memorial.
If Obama did not mean that the massacre was God's will, and praise be, why say he works in "mysterious" ways? Why not just say it's great how people have reacted to the tragedy, through God, or somesuch? The "mystery" is glaringly obviously that God allowed/brought about the massacre of his devout followers in the first place, and that's what Obama "explains" with the phrase GWIMW - what other "mystery" could he possibly have been referring to with that mother of all elephants (the massacre) in the room?!

I know this must be a sensitive topic for....patriotic Americans, but really, wipe the sawdust from your eyes, for heathen's sake.

I can only assume that this is just a thought-terminating cliche that Obama and many other Christians use to get around the fact that, well, if you’re going to assume that there’s an all-powerful and loving God, shit like Dylan Roof’s massacre shows he’s asleep at the wheel.

Either that or they think that these massacres are just a means to an end that God is moving towards, like, to use an old example I heard somewhere, the Holocaust was God’s way of getting human rights laws passed around the world. Why, yes, this is extremely fucked up, which is why I don’t think they tend to think too closely about it,

It would be patriotic to say that we're going to do what needs to be done for us regardless of whatever some fairy might have in mind or how it moves.

While it would be ridiculous if the president of the us thought it was gods will that americans get mowed down, it's clear that the notion in question is something even less than that.  The mysterious way gods supposed to be working here, is to defy and confound the will of the shooter, and help people see something.  There's nothing more ridiculous than a public servant babbling about what god does, is doing, or will do.  That's not gods job.  Ya might even call it dereliction.  At any rate, if we assume that both god and Barack Obama were on the case - the results speak for themselves.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I found the documentary to be incredibly moving at times and it brought a literal tear to my eye more than once at surviving relatives of victims recounting of the events. Near the end of the documentary there is footage of Obama, the then president, who travelled to the town to speak at the church memorial for the victims.

Here is the, by my mind, unconscionably stupid, delusional and BEYOND distasteful....he said, to rapturous applause and cries of gleeful agreement from the huge choir and crowd, of the massacre: "God works in mysterious ways!"

So Obama, and the cheering crowd, think that the massacre was God's will, and they worship and love God and so, basically, approve of the events, the massacre, the bereavement, because God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good. He then moves on to sing "Amazing Grace."

Could anything be more twisted and fucked up than the president of the USA and all the locals saying they approve of the massacre because, like everything else, it's God's will???!!!

Therein lies the ultimate proof of the shite identity and stench of Christianity, and more broadly religion in general. A ludicrous scourge to decency and abhorrent buggery of intelligence.

what a limited world view. You seem to only think good things benefit humanity.. that nothing bad could improve the human condition in a positive way if the specific incident is deemed bad. while not all bad things have a positive outcome, it is most difficult to not find a positive influence or change that comes out of hardship/bad things. our whole space program was fast tracked by 100++ years in WWII. we went from a flightless society to  LEO in less than 50 years. no to mention advances in medicine, genetics, even air travel/jet engines were all positive things that came out of something like WWII. Just because we are maybe too close to see any positives that come from this travesty doesn't mean there aren't any. The one thing i've seen is how that primarily black congregation took in and reached out to that troubled boy. and despite his hate for God and God's people some of the victims have openly and on record forgiven this kid, setting the pace and examples as how we as a nation need to be ready to turn the other cheek if we are to heal this nation of this media drive race conflict.

that said i do you see your out rage, when a black man tried to shoot up a white church.

to me it's the same.. evil men, who hate God and his followers shoot and bomb churches. race is a tool the media and progressives use to polarize and divide the community.  either way while i do not condone such behavior, i harbor no hate towards them. I say let God judge them because who know maybe it takes such an act to bring about reform or a better 'good.'

That's where you're wrong. Very devout and holy people shoot up churches, because devout and holy. You can suck at the tit of secular peace all you like, but that's just because you don't have it in you to be mujahideen.

If you weren't such a worthless liar I'd start a clock on you.

You say "let god judge them" because, in your mind, god judges as you would judge, and is as violent and bloodthirsty and dismissive and race obsessed as you wish society would let you be, if not for all that pesky pop morality™. Theres no high ground on offer when a racist piece of shit insists that his racist piece of shit god will judge people. You're all hate, no effort.

the reason i forgive is based on the parable of the unmerciful servant, and again mirrored in the lord's prayer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED3fzkS-bhA

Basically our forgiveness is based on our ablity to forgive.. so when i said let God judge them i'm good if he sends them to hell I'm also good if he forgives them. As my life time of sin far outweighs that one instance of their sin crossing over on to my life.
