The World Scientists' Warning to Humanity was a document written in 1992 by Henry W. Kendall and signed by about 1,700 leading scientists. 25 years later, in November 2017, 15,364 scientists signed World Scientists' Warning to Humanity: A Second Notice written by William J. Ripple and seven co-authors calling for, among other things, human population planning, and drastically diminishing per capita consumption of fossil fuels, meat, and other resources.[a] The Second Notice has more scientist cosigners and formal supporters than any other journal article ever published.[1]

The reason why there is such resistance to acknowledging the factual basis of global warming is doing so would morally oblige those who are less likely to be negatively impacted by it, or may indeee benefit from it, to help those who will suffer more severely from it, when they would prefer to let other others  suffer, or indeed make others suffer, so they can benefit from it. 

To over hype the impact as the “end of the world” in which all suffers rather obscures the profound  immorality of the real reason of climate change denial.

Really?   Taiwan’s labor cost is one of the highest in Asia, far higher than on mainland China.  You think China is after Taiwan for cheap labor?

I’ll give you a hint, what China is after Taiwan for, is not even some of the first things that might come to mind that Taiwan actually has in relative or absolute abundance.

The operative word is "may"; the Antarctic Ozone hole was, for instance, not predicted, but discovered, the result of other research on the planet Venus.  And, so, "Who knows?"  The half-life of CO2 is on the order of centuries, and so, even if Humanity stops producing greenhouse gases, the full impact, even if such is catastrophic, may not be realized until a century or two now.

The world will end eventually, not may end. This is one of several proposed scenarios.

And this one does not end the world, just many life forms.
