Making responsible, law abiding citizens jump through hoops for "the privilege" of gun ownership?

You see - I don't consider that reasonable.

All I see is you jumping through hoops to avoid reasonable gun laws. Care to be more logical?

Dafuque?

What gun laws do you see me avoiding?

...

Just because I find the current laws to be nonsensical?

I find your attitude illogical. You want to avoid the problem and regulate the people that comply with the laws.

Current laws? Current gun law allows for anyone to do what they wish with their guns.

Care to be less fucking retarded? Trust me, you've earned the title.

Ok. So you either are completely unaware of the current laws or you' re just out of touch with reality.

Either way - until you are made aware of the realities involved - further discussion is pointless.

Personally - I see no merit in open carry.

I tend to think people are more polite when they DON' T know who is packing.

Edit to add

What do you base the statement - that those who carry are a greater risk? Are you including or excluding those who carry illegally?

Either/or. I base it on the assumption that I’m somewhat less likely to be shot by a person who doesn’t have a gun than by one who does.

Bu bu  bu, if they don't have a gun, they most certainly can point thier finger at you and pretend they do.

Quote:Mass shooting became more prevalent with the increase of "no gun zones".
False

Quote:It's not to say more guns would make it better - it's just the result of a monster knowing where the vulnerable ones are.
Mass shooters don't care about the vulnerable. Most of them are already set to die. Or they will simply adapt their plan to get around it.

Quote:How many mass shooting have there been in gun shows?
Doesn't matter. There are a million places a mass shooting has not occured. This is just fallacious rhetoric.

Quote:And what do you consider "reasonable"?
Gun laws are reasonable

Quote:Making responsible, law abiding citizens jump through hoops for "the privilege" of gun ownership?
The law applies to everyone or no one

Quote:You see - I don't consider that reasonable.
Yup because YOU are an unreasonable gun nut.

I’m not sure how you could keep guns out of the hands of criminals and irresponsible people if you don’t make law abiding, responsible people jump through a few hoops. How would you know who you’re allowing to have a gun?

Let’s say - hypothetically - OLB and I are both buying our first gun. OLB has never broken the law (at least not seriously) and gives no indication of irresponsible behaviour. Yours Truly, on the other hand, is a reprobate of the first water who has a long and colourful history of doing things that would make a sailor blush. Other than hoop-jumping by both of us, how is it going to be possible to determine that OLB would make a good gun owner, while I shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a firearm?

Oh come on....

You give theists shit all the time for trying to get you to " disprove god" - and here you are using the same tactic....

You CANNOT prove who will be a good gun owner IN THE FUTURE.

You can only prove those likely to be poor gun owners BASED ON PAST ACTIONS.

Of course. But I don't see any other way to improve the situation of the wrong people having guns. I think having more thorough background checks might help sort out some people who shouldn't have a firearm. Based on the hypothetical above, you would be more likely to be a better candidate for gun ownership than I would.

Just so I can better understand where you're coming from, could you outline the hoops law-abiders have to jump through to purchase a handgun where you live?
