Even many law abiding people should NOT own a gun.

If you do not have the will to use a firearm in your own defense having a firearm is more a liability than an asset.

Of course no one KNOWS until the moment comes - but no one knows you better than you. So the choice of being armed or not should be a personal choice.

could you live with this philosophy without police/2 hour response time?? or in a time and or place where they have been defunded completely, or are you talking about a 10 to 15 min 911 response time?

Your philosophy would not have been possible just one or two generations ago. because back then if you did not have a gun you were prey for someone who did.

So in your mind what changed? did people change to the point society could never fall back into a state where the population preyed on people? a place where the poor and unarmed were habitually brutalized? or did the police/law enforcement beat back and imprisoned enough of those predators to where the streets are full of fairly decent people.

so if police are the linch pin to a peaceful society as apposed to a wild west/colonial times.. and those departments are being defunded and not supported. what makes you think we will not quickly find ourselves back to people preying on each others especially in the cities?

how many semi truck loads of food do you think it will take before the people of a big city turn on one another? how long before they literally start eating each other? (This is what i mean when i reference zombies. I'm not talking about the walking dead but those who eat and prey on people)

If I didn't know better, I would think this indicates a sense of humor on Drich's part.

So I better get busy around here we need four more guns, a shit ton of ammo and I need to brush up on my skills with a LAW...are those still a thing?

Husband is going to be pissed that he'll have to house the hotrod he's having built elsewhere to make room for our brand new tank.

Thanks for the morning chuckle.

he will "tank" you later.
Dayum drich - more humor.  I'm kinda impressed to see another side of you.

This is more of something i enjoy, and would like to share it with anyone thinking about a gun, seeings how the police are leaving in droves under threat of being defunded, and or being replaced with unarmed social workers.

I do not want this turn into a gun debate.. this is more of a technical q&a

So then, ... you gave up being a refrigerator repair man / sold the highly successful refrigeration company to work retail ?
How fascinating.

did elon sell tesla to start his home power generation? space X, the boring company, or neural link? or is his other ventures just other companies he owns?
Not that i am elon musk, just demonstrating it is possible to own more than one active company at a time in this country without being thrown in jail.
Post 14 I explained this. the gun shop is one of 4 (depending on how you count them) I buy and sell retail and commercial trucks. that is one company. (as you have to have a car/truck state regulated dealer's licenses and a business licenses. )
(i have a service company that works on cars and trucks. we have all the tools lifts and scanners to work on and diagnos just about anything.  2020 or older. (haven't got our 2021 updates yet) we have tire machines and balancers. these guys typically work on our sales lot cars and customer warranty cars. and pre covid we had mobile service too this was primarily for refrigerated trucks. ) this is seperate because they guys who work on cars typically can't sell them. two different sets of employees.

after covid my guy left and decided to roll that money into the gun shop/something i could do personally as it would not take up too much time. ( i have to buy at three different auctions during the week to keep inventory) So gun shop is number 3 as you have to be licensed by the ATF and approved by state and county officials such as police and zoning) completely different investment in inventory.. nothing i sell in the gun shop transfers to repair or car truck sales. i can't even let most of my other employees handel an of the firearms. so that is seperate.

then we have the refrigeration up fitter business which is kinda my tesla as it is the primary bread winner. here we convert cargo vans and truck to refrigerated vans and trucks. one of 4 in the country who can deliver a reliable -15* cargo van with just about any brand's refrigeration system (the big three) sized for this application. (before it had to be one brand in a very specifically designed box/vault. which takes up a ton of space. other wise it had to be in a diesel truck with a diesel driven refrigeration system this is the difference between 49k (mini van) 60k brand new full size van, and a 130k med truck.

then my wife has a farm/goat breeder business. (which is.. kinda supported by what i do)

I've had my FFL 03 which allowed me to buy old/war relic guns. I collected WWII and WWI stuff well before my first post here. Guns are kinda second nature. they are mechanical, and i love how complicated they can be (typically older guns) and transversely how simple modern guns can be.

and on top of that in my 'free time' i have this ministry, my 80s toy collection and old mustang.. oh an i help my wife with her farm stuff from time to time.. plus i have a few hives of bees..

god is good.. as most of this was a gift.

I actually wouldn’t mind having a tank (a tankette, really). Not for defense or dealing with the neighbours, just for popping down to the shops every so often.

the real funny thing is all of that is possible now and this is how it all works.. not that there is a three gun min, but you can apply to get a machine gun permit which opens the door for big bore destructive devices (anything over 50cal. ) IE cannon. which is all a tank is a cannon mounted on a armored tracked delivery system. which opens the door to destructive devices. like RPG's/LAWs C4 ampho rockets missiles ect. all you need is money.

If you're going to be doing that kind of stuff you're going to spend more on ITAR compliance than licensing.
