Front or back, booking a passenger jet.

Having flown both nationally and internationally I still don't get the obsession of price difference. I've traveled to Europe, all over America, Japan and Australia. I do get wanting to be closer to getting off, I also get having more options of food. And more importantly, I really hate that coach seats don't lean back as much as you want them to. But at the same time I've been on coach seats in the past, where I had someone's head in my lap.

But how the fuck is not wanting that does that justify some fuckwad asshole pricing me out of sanity. Some fucking billionaire or millionaire whom has having his lobster heated by the same microwave as my meat loaf? The same first class moron, who doesn't give a shit that a jet that has a catastrophic event, does not care about what he paid for his ticket.

Why the fuck do you give a fucking fuck what some other fucking fuckwad pays for his fucking ticket?

Someone else buying a first class ticket in no way impacts your life. It doesn’t cost you any money, it doesn’t inconvenience you, it doesn’t make your own flight any better or worse, so why do you care?

Seriously...why?

I can understand taking ticket to be over the wing. It is the CoG and one might get the least of the turbulence. This has never been something I have ever paid any heed to. I have been in every place from first class to all back of the bus. Why does B37 think it matters? I have no idea.

He needs to bitch about those he sees as rich.

Nevermind that you can be upgraded for various reasons other than a wad of cash.

If his panties aren't in a twist over something he just isn't happy.

I am by no measure rich. I have suffered eleven hour flights with my knees in my teeth. This is not a happy situation.

Rarely, I have had the upgrade. Spent most of it carefully unfolding myself. I have a metal ankle. That is never going away.

Well, I didn't like to say, but he seems to get panties in a bunch about the most trivial of things. TBH, he seems like a decent sort, it just seems his priorities are a mess. Abba? Mediocre at best. If one looks at those two abba bimbos back in the day, sure, they were sort of hot at a distance. These days, they look distressingly haggard. B37 is besotted with a fiction that does not exist.

And to get right in, I am younger that both of those abba bimbos and I freely admit that I am as haggard as both of them. I harbour no illusion. But as a bloke, I get away with it. For some reason.

Look at them now. A starved loon with an eating disorder and a zeppelin with the other eating disorder.

Not casting aspersions, but B37 is in love with some idealised notion from his youth that has no relation to reality. Anyone's reality, let alone his.

Because the assholes at the top set the price. It would be wonderful if the "free market" worked the way the way billionaires and GOP sell, but it does not.

If you can accept that when a passenger jet has a catastrophic event, then the 1,000$  lobster in first class isn't going to mean shit even if that same person was eating that same lobster in coach at the back of the plane.

First class is nothing short of price gouging. And for bullshit superficial reasons. I get that people are willing to pay it, but it is nonsense. I get a little pay difference, and I am fine with that, but currently it is bat shit absurd.

My bad.

Not at work.

There is some truth to seating as to when a emergency might happen to survival. But in reality, people choose their seats based on income and preference. It is bat shit insane what millionaires and billionaires pay for first class knowing that their food is heated in the same microwave technology as coach. It is also bat shit insane that someone pays 30k for a 12 hour trip over the ocean when they damned well know the person in coach who had their food heated in the same microwave sitting in coach, landed at the same fucking time they did. The only difference in any of that is that they get on and off the plane quicker. And for my money and logic, it is fucking insane. Not the difference in price, but the gap in price.

Lets put it to you this way. The Titanic had class accommodations, and the poorest patrons were bellow deck and most likely to be the last on the lifeboats.

No, it isn't about being rich, it is about excess.

It makes no sense to me, even if I was a billionaire myself, to pay for basically a ride everyone is taking, that takes off and lands at the same time. The only difference is that you pay for over priced food that gets heated in the same microwave as coach, and you get to lay your head back further than coach, And you get to exit the plane quicker. But if the plane has a catastrophic event, how much does that money matter?

You got to leave the plane quicker when it lands safely? Rich people are suckers. If I were a billionaire I'd be the last person off the plane if I were that greedy. The problem with that greed is that it needlessly jacks up the price for sane people who ride in coach. And in an emergency nobody gives a fuck about money. That is what makes the price gap between first class and coach bullshit.

I am comfortable, financially, and I've never flown first class.

And I don't care where I sit, so long as it's not next ro someone sweaty.

RE: Front or back, booking a passenger jet.
Worst plane experience was being seated in the middle seat of three (couldn't get the window seat like I usually try for) and the women on either side of me decided they would discuss the 'Left Behind' series of books. Both firm believers in the concept. I finally asked if they would like to sit next to one another and scored the window seat after all though I had to turn up my earphones to not have to listen to the discussion for the entire flight.

A whole plane full of people and I end up with those two.

Assholes at the top setting the price is EXACTLY the free market, because those prices are a response to market forces (if there wasn't a demand for $20K airfare, there would be no $20K airfare).

That's nonsense. It's like saying that no one should pay $200 000 for a Rolls-Royce, because they'd be just as dead if their luxury car fell down a 1000 foot ravine as if they were in a Corolla.

No, it isn't price gouging. You should look up what price gouging is.

I bow to your superior knowledge of what constitutes bat shit absurdity.

I always opt for the cargo hold.

There's more room, better company and they don't mind if you hang about in your skivvies drinking liquor straight from the bottle.
