Community policing? Ha! That'd never work in the us. Turns out it's harder to get a cop to send his next door neighbor to the er over loose smokes. I don't think we can come to workable terms with policing in this country until we can accept it for what it is. A paramilitary force of occupation whose purpose is to manage the poors on behalf of the overclass.

It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas).
