Looking not from a national polish but strategic European perspective, imho its exactly the right choice: Fortify your borderlands, and Poland is a borderland to Russia. and Belarus. If i was EU, id support Poland even stronger in fortifying....Europe to the east. We dont know yet how things with Ukraine will end, and the current war has already shown that Russia is able and willing to test EU/NATO over polish airspace (amongst others. See: Baltic).
From what i have read form you, its not going to be excessively expensive. Of course its always better to focus on non-military infrastructure, but unfortunately Russia has a strong influence on our decisions.

I agree that spending money on military to put it in broad terms is a wise choice but what's wise in principle might not be wise in particularities. I certainly don't trust gov to make right choices even if I agree with this one for whatever it is worth with me being layman.
Point is not many people want to fight for Poland and no matter how huge sums will be invested in military it will not change without changing all shit that makes Poland into shithole. II Poland Republic had bloated military budget but collapsed like house of cards in 1939 and it's politicians bravely ran away. I don't trust that things would be different this time - tusk wouldn't be Zelensky and as Poles love tradition I suppose that Romanian borders would see heavy traffic consisting mainly of gov plates cars.

So the US is bombing Venezuela.
Back to the good old fashioned-style war, where you just go to steal the oil.

And yet you are the one who complains that you are not allowed to praise Trump on this forum.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Trump is claiming that Maduro has been ‘captured and flown out of the country’ after an attack on Caracas. If true, this is bad. Like, really, REALLY bad.

Or really, really good, depending on how you view normalizing the removal of dictators by abduction to a foreign nation. He has all the survival instincts of a lemming in mid-flight.

This is probably not going to hurt Republicans in the midterms.

That largely depends on the aftermath. A civil war in Venezuela could send crude prices skyrocketing. Granted, the country doesn’t export much oil in comparison to its reserves, but markets hate uncertainty.
On the other hand, if the next government can find the money to re-furbish the production infrastructure, crude could drop to levels not seen since the pandemic.
The first scenario would seriously hurt the GOP, the second might save them.

Quote:Russia is offering stark criticism of the U.S. military attack on Venezuela, which resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
In response, Russia called for a full meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
"This morning, the United States carried out an act of armed aggression against Venezuela. This causes deep concern and condemnation," Russia said in a statement from its Foreign Ministry.
"The pretexts cited to justify such actions are unfounded. Ideologized hostility has prevailed over practical pragmatism and over a willingness to build relations based on trust and predictability," Russian officials wrote, nearly five years into the nation's own war in Ukraine.
Russia, a key ally of the Maduro regime, said it was crucial to "prevent further escalation and to focus on finding a way out through dialogue."
"We proceed from the understanding that all parties who may have claims against one another should seek solutions through dialogue-based approaches. We are ready to support them in this," the ministry said.
