Despite previous reports that Russia had supplied Venezuela with additional air defense systems in 2024, including Buk-M2 and Pantsir units transported by Il-76 aircraft, these systems appear to have been ineffective or neutralized. Defense Express notes that no visible air defense response has been detected in videos recorded during the attacks.
Venezuela’s ground-based air defense network includes 1–2 divisions of S-300VM systems, 3–9 Buk-M2E systems, and over 6 S-125 Pechora-2M units — all of which are Russian-designed. Venezuela’s air force also relies heavily on 21 Su-30MKV fighters, a local variant of the Russian Su-30MK2.
Russia, a key military partner to Venezuela, had attempted to bolster the country’s air defenses in late 2024, but the current operation raises questions about the operational effectiveness of those systems in a modern battlefield environment.

Russia could go and snatch Zelensky. China could snatch Lai. These things would be bad, but, hey, that's the way things are done now.
Using Trump's imbecility to justify Putin's, as if Putin would have even given Zelensky a trial.

https://united24media.com/latest-news/ru...acas-14742 There you go. Russia aggressively tried to expand into american sphere of influence. USA had to preemptively, defensively, invade! Thus i would rather call it a "police" action than a war. All Venezuela now has to do is to give the oil fields to the USA, install a US friendly regime, reduce army strength and accept useless guarantees by Trump.
Problem solved.

So I guess all this US backing wasn't that bad after all.

Indeed, Venezuela got too close to BRICKS.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

In his current term, Trump has bombed
Iran
Iraq
Nigeria
Somalia
Syria
Yemen
Venezuela
And of course he's continued to supply bombs to Israel, which is currently dropping them on Gaza City and Khan Younis.

Its in the historically well established sphere of interest of the USA. Are there any english speaking minorities that happen to be oppressed in any way in Venezuela? Asking for a friend
