That's not an argument. Because we pay for one set of things. That doesn't mean we shouldn't also pay for another thing.

That's clearly fallacious because just because we pay for one thing doesn't mean we have to for anything. Letting them use the phone for free is a pretty freaking modest.

I realize that we've had cell phones for awhile now, but what the hell ever happened to hand-written letters? That was good enough for centuries, if one was lucky enough to get the necessary materials for letters. Cellphones are an unnecessary frippery, in my book. Spoiled fucking prisoners get more than a lot of poor people do!

Phone calls from prisoners often cost the person getting the call a lot of money. Some of those on the outside are afraid not to take the call. It's not just about a prisoner getting 'frills'. A phone call has another person on the other end...and that's who typically ends up paying, one way or another.

Last I checked poor people are still free. Prisoners are not.
