China's schoolkids beat American students in all academic categories

China gamed the system when becoming part of the PISA group in two ways 1) instead of being a representative mix of child abilities China's testees all come from elite schools, and 2) the Chinese education system get the PISA tests ahead of time and tailor the classes taking it to getting good results.

Outside of a few schools for the sons and (massively fewer) daughters of the elite, Chinese eductaion is just awful.

Ok I know that sportspeople shouting god from the rooftops is a dime a dozen at the moment (and that I could have picked out loads of other examples), and that this is not really news, but I have an inherent distrust and worry about people who can't take credit for their own actions or give credit to those who gave them help but have to place it all in the hands of an invisible sky daddy. To me it is a clear sign that they are mentally and emotionally incapable of performing at the highest levels.

Cuba's population has been protesting the past several days. It’s not a dodge (and certainly not a doge). It’s a correctly descriptive term. You simply can’t connect every shooting to every other shooting, as much as you would like to.
