Given that they've been whittling down the Voting Rights Act since 2013, and that the racism in the Republican Party is getting more and more blatant, it's not that surprising.

Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz has been sentenced to life in prison, for the killing of 14 students and three staff members. But I guess they'll kill him in prison.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

One of the reasons was that by not wanting to give up their gun rights, this incident is something that people, as a society, are prepared to live with. I mean, imagine if he couldn't get his hands on an AR-15-style rifle, as is the case in the rest of the world.

She is trash.  The Governor vetoed the law but in this silly place, it only takes a simple majority to override.

I believe Ian Bremmer's claim that Musk talked to Putin about conditions to end the war. Now that Ukraine has been mean to Musk by telling him to fuck himself over his "peace plan", Musk is going to take his toys and go home.
