NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are falling sharply after getting a whiff of a worst-case scenario for financial markets: a weakening economy combined with high inflation. The S&P 500 lost 1.4% early Friday after a report showed U.S. employers cut more jobs last month than they created and after oil prices jumped to their highest level in nearly two years because of the Iran war. It’s a combination that investors hate because no one in the world has a good tool to fix both a weak economy and high inflation at the same time. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 800 points, and the Nasdaq composite fell 1.4%.

It actually makes a weird sort of sense. Sure, the optics are bad, but Ukraine has extensive experience against Iranian-made drones.

The damage wouldn’t be quite so bad if Trump was clearer about the goal(s) in Iran. Markets hate uncertainty.

David Gilmour’s Iconic ‘Black Strat’ Smashes All-Time Record For Most Expensive Guitar Ever Sold

Pink Floyd singer/guitarist David Gilmour’s iconic “Black Strat” electric guitar set an all-time record on Thursday (March 12) during a Christie’s auction in New York when it became the most expensive guitar ever sold. According to The New York Times, the guitar that was a key part of such classic Floyd albums as 1973’s The Dark Side of the Moon, 1975’s Wish You Were Here and 1979’s The Wall sold for $14.55 million to an online bidder in a 21-minute bidding war, more than doubling the previous record-holder, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s Martin D-18E acoustic guitar which he played on MTV Unplugged just months before his April 1994 death, which sold for $6.01 million in 2020.

What the article doesn't point out is that this is The Black Strat's second time breaking the world record for most expensive guitar ever sold.

This is the guitar used on most of Pink Floyd's best work: basically, every regular electric guitar part from Dark Side of the Moon to The Final Cut, with a few exceptions

1.  a few parts on "Money" and "Brain Damage/Eclipse" where he needed access to 24 frets and not the 21 the Black Strat has, 
   
2. "Dogs" and "Sheep" from Animals, 
   
3.  "Another Brick in the Wall" from the Wall (speciflcally the Solo from Part 2, and all of Part 3)
   
4. "Run Like Hell" and "Young Lust" from the Wall
   
5. "Two Suns in the Sunset" from The Final Cut. 
   
6. Any of the slide or acoustic parts.

I was listening to "Dogs" last week. It's hands-down my favorite Gilmour solo, because it's so out of character for him.
