if jesus was real

RE: if jesus was real
Thinks. I live in Kentucky the best theory I can get from anyone is that the Romans covered it all up(the prof).

Covered what up?

When the Romans crucified someone it was a major public statement. If you just want to quietly get rid of someone you stab him in the neck with your gladius you don't hang him up on a fucking cross for all to see.

Xtians make all sorts of excuses why their godboy is absent from the historical record. The vast majority of those excuses are pure shit.

Agreed. I often lament that we don't live in a truly rational society. In such a society, anyone who seriously presents ancient myths as "historical documentation" to support their own superstitious claims in any academic discussion should simply be laughed out of the room.

You know that's exactly what would happen if we were discussing a "historical Hercules" and then the story of the 12 labors was offered up as proof.

The funny thing is that Rome adopted Christianity. But it seems that most of the Christians I know have a hatred for the Romans .lol

You know, I've heard the exact same thing. Greetings to a fellow Kentuckian, btw.

The conspiracy theory I've heard here is that the Roman Catholic Church wanted to cover up the true story of Jesus. The idea is that they wanted to control the message for their own political agenda and that the true teachings of Jesus would somehow be damaging to their organization. The conspiracy theory suggests that the Romans, after adopting Christianity, went about gathering up all the historical records and then locked them away in the vaults of the Vatican. There's nothing to base this conspiracy theory on, of course. It's just Dan Brown style stuff.

It speaks volumes that the most rational explanation, apart from the whole thing is just mythology, is an elaborate conspiracy theory.

The subsequent collapse of would tend to make this another example of the worthlessness of christianity for anything constructive.

Also Jesus' had overexaggerated powers.

Scenario 1
Man: Oh nooo, I lost my ear!
Jesus: No worries, my palms will miracously bring your ear back!
In reality:
Man: I lost my ear...! Guess I better glue it back on.

Scenario 2
Jesus: LOOK AT MEH, I CAN WALK ON WATER. TEEHEE.
In reality:
Death from drowning.

No, the Romans invented christianity, at least what we know as christianity.

Recently uncovered video footage of the historical Jesus' "miracles" shows you're right:

The myths made it sound more impressive.
