Daily conspiracy
RE: Daily conspiracy
Then this will also get you optimistic: a former conspiracy monger reached his tipping point of delusion and speaks out how alt-right conspiracy channels manipulate people with lies

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: Daily conspiracy
Seeing this article on Bloomberg, I get the impression that there is a hype today going on for reporting about conspiracy theories no matter how boring they are, and this one seems really boring. It is about how “a globe-spanning civilization called the Tartarian Empire” which was at some point “erased” from history, and all the clues are to be found in architecture.

Quote:The overall premise is an alternative history. A vast, technologically advanced “Tartarian” empire, emanating from north-central Asia or thereabouts, either influenced or built vast cities and infrastructure all over the world. (Tartaria, or Tartary, though never a coherent empire, was indeed a general term for north-central Asia.) Either via a sudden cataclysm or a steady antagonistic decline — and perhaps as recently as 100 years ago — Tartaria fell. Its great buildings were buried, and its history was erased. After this “great reset,” the few surviving examples of Tartarian architecture were falsely recast as the work of contemporary builders who could never have executed buildings of such grace and beauty, and subjected them to clumsy alterations.

“I think that it was one worldwide civilization,” says Joachim Skaar, a 26-year-old Norwegian who runs The Tartarian Meltdown YouTube channel. “It was all based on unity, oneness, peace, love, and harmony, which we don’t see in today’s society.”

There’s an arch-traditionalism present in the theory, too. The pre-modern buildings that we venerate are sometimes said to be more than 1,000 years old. “The same people that built the Capitol in Washington built the pyramids in Egypt,” Skaar says.

Reached at his recording studio, Skaar, who works as a plumber, is not an architect or historian, but he has strong opinions on both disciplines.

RE: Daily conspiracy
Joe Biden is actually dead, and Donald Trump is still at work in the White House.

Quote:The QAnon-supporting attorney Lin Wood has posted a bizarre social media story claiming that he saw Donald Trump "hanging out and working" in the Oval Office this week and suggesting that President Joe Biden is dead.

In a series of posts and photos on the encrypted messaging app Telegram, where he has more than 844,000 followers, Wood claimed he went looking for Biden, whom he dubbed "Joey 'Bribes' Bandito," at the White House.

Thirty minutes into his Telegram tall tale, Wood uploaded an old picture of himself and Trump in the Oval Office—and suggested the image was from the present day and Trump was still president.

New Yorker, not you too!
You know what time it is when the article starts by taking that lunatic Steven Greer seriously, and then proceeds with Fox News.

Quote:How the Pentagon Started Taking U.F.O.s Seriously

Over several decades, according to Greer, untold numbers of alien craft had been observed in our planet’s airspace; they were able to reach extreme velocities with no visible means of lift or propulsion, and to perform stunning maneuvers at g-forces that would turn a human pilot to soup. Some of these extraterrestrial spaceships had been “downed, retrieved and studied since at least the 1940s and possibly as early as the 1930s.” Efforts to reverse engineer such extraordinary machines had led to “significant technological breakthroughs in energy generation.” These operations had mostly been classified as “cosmic top secret,” a tier of clearance “thirty-eight levels” above that typically granted to the Commander-in-Chief. Why, Greer asked, had such transformative technologies been hidden for so long? This was obvious. The “social, economic and geo-political order of the world” was at stake.

At the press conference, Greer appeared in thin-framed glasses, a baggy, funereal suit, and a red tie askew in a starched collar. “I know many in the media would like to talk about ‘little green men,’ ” he said. “But, in reality, the subject is laughed at because it is so serious. I have had grown men weep, who are in the Pentagon, who are members of Congress, and who have said to me, ‘What are we going to do?’ Here is what we will do. We will see that this matter is properly disclosed.”

In a recent interview with Fox News, John Ratcliffe, the former director of National Intelligence, emphasized that the issue was no longer to be taken lightly. “When we talk about sightings,” he said, “we are talking about objects that have been seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery, that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain, movements that are hard to replicate, that we don’t have the technology for, or are travelling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”

Etc.

Wow, a whole soap opera is unfolding:

Quote:Russian president Vladimir Putin is behind the "pyramid-shaped" UFOs that were filmed swarming a US Navy ship and there is "no question about it", ex-senator Harry Reid has claimed.

Senator Reid told Mystery Wire UFO news site: "They are coming in swarms, like bees, like insects, so many of them."

Asked over the possibility the UFOs were advanced Chinese technology, he said: "Always remember Russia, the Soviet Union, is run by a man who ran the KGB.

Meanwhile, the explosive footage of "pyramid-shaped" UFOs may just be the beginning, with the filmmaker behind the leaks claiming there are “nine” more videos.

It all makes sense now: Bill gets divorced and then hooks up with vaxxed hotties who had been made infertile by the injections, because his pull-out game is weak, and he ain't paying billions in child support.

Oh, would you look at this, now George Knapp admits that Bigelow is behind the current UFO media flap and Harry Reid now denies that Lockheed or the Pentagon has alien wreckage, calling believers "conspiratorialists."

Both men are walking back parts of the New Yorker story and trying to manage the inevitable disappointment when the "wreckage" doesn't pan out and the upcoming UFO report doesn't prove aliens.

Quote:“I’ve been to Area 51 several times. I know what they have there,” Reid said. “Other than some conspiratorialists, I don’t think that there’s any foundation for thinking that Nevada should know more than any other state.”
