Stupid things religious people say
RE: Stupid things religious people say
That explains why Trump is such a greedy Fascist POS

Quote:Cardinal Dolan: Trump ‘takes his Christian faith seriously’

New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan said in an interview that aired Sunday that President-elect Trump “takes his Christian faith seriously.”

“I’ve had talks with him before in the past where he’s pretty blunt about, you know, he can’t say that he was raised as a, as a very zealous Christian, but he takes his Christian faith seriously,” Dolan told host Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

On the recent assassination attempts against Trump, “It’s hard to explain, other than it was God’s work,” Bartiromo said.

“Yeah, you know, I think of, Maria, I think of Ronald Reagan and John Paul II,” Dolan responded. “Both survived assassination attempts very close to one another, and when the two of them met for the first time, Ronald Reagan said to Pope Saint John Paul II, ‘Mother Teresa told me that she thinks the Lord spared me, because the Lord has somethin’ special in mind for me.’”

“And Pope Saint John Paul II smiled and said, ‘She told me the same thing,’” he added.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Until then they had to put Radiothor in the communion wine.

That's crazy! I've studied enough radiation health physics to know just how bad that stuff can be for you.

You should look at some of the quackery they did with x-rays. My mother had acne treated with x-rays in her early teens, multiple sessions. We've wondered how much this contributed to her multiple myeloma. When diagnosed she was 63 with stage 4/grade 2, no prior family history.

I’ve always thought it funny that the medical profession insists that x-rays are perfectly safe, but every time I’ve had them, the tech always scurries off to the Shielded Room or dons a lead-lined apron.

But I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about.

When I was to the point of follow up testing after my mastectomies, I asked the oncologist if we would be doing scans (MRI or CT) to keep watch on things.

Her exact words were: Those things aren't good for you.

Yet they treat some people with radiation.

I went with bloodwork twice a year that looked for specific markers and one chest X-ray a year.

Look up the Radium Girls.  Women who were employed painting watch faces with glow in the dark numbers (read radium) and the horrific things that happened to them because they were told to use their lips to make a precise and tiny point on the paint brushes they used.  Pretty gruesome stuff.

EVERY X-Ray exam does damage, but the medical benefit outweighs that risk, which is generally small.
