Yeah, I don't buy into the pronoun movement.

For me - few things beat the PC use of genderless terms - when it' s completely uncalled for - to wit -
"Pregnant people".
Fucking seriously?
"People"?
Whaaaa? People don't get pregnant? How did you get born then?
What he means, imbecile, is that there is a group that never, ever gets pregnant. See if you can figure out who they are.

Maybe we could drop pronouns all together and just call them ‘preggos’.

My niece has a half-sister who has come out as a 'they'. Their wife (weird they use the word wife) is a trans male to female. The half-sister is currently pregnant with what they are calling 'Baby Bean' and are very adamant that any gifts for the bean be gender neutral. And Baby Bean was sired by the wife's brother with the aid of a turkey baster...I shit you not.
As it is, I need a chart to keep up with what to call who...or is it whom?

I don't get it...
Do you accept trans identities?
If a transman was pregnant, would you insist on referring to him as a pregnant woman? Even though he's a man and is accepted in society as a man?
I don't understand the incredulity over one thing and not the other. Like, "Fine, you're a man. But if you get pregnant, you must be a woman."

This is truly a non-confrontational response. I'm not bothered by things like this. At some point in the distant past I probably was, but I realized that these things aren't about me, so it just doesn't seem to be a good use of my mental energy. As a college student I got into a group called the SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronism. It's a mouthful that just means a bunch of nerds dressing up like knights and ladies and prancing about as if we were in a Renaissance Fair. That's when I realized I was a weirdo myself.
People can be whatever they want to be and be called whatever they want. There will come a time when gestating a baby will not be limited by one's type of genitalia, if civilization doesn't destroy itself that is. I do understand that not everyone is comfortable with things that stretch social conventions and I'm ok with that; I'm not trying to change people. But to me, if you want to be referred to as Felix the cat, then I got no reason to quibble. Doesn't mean I won't laugh a little, though.
Why is it so?
