Agree. There is more to a person as a whole than one aspect of their views, and opinions can be changed. I don't think throwing around racist or bigot labels are all that useful either. It shuts down the conversation and if someone (not referring to OLB but just in general) if someone feels justified in their beliefs and views, then reducing them to a label that is meant to shame and dehumanize them will inspire a martyr reaction.

I'm in agreement with Ten and Fox. The OP of the thread was about language and how it is changing. The charge of white supremacist got thrown in due to some ancillary arguments but I don't see any real reason for this. I do think it's interesting to see the debate about what makes one a racist and what disqualifies one from such a label. I don't believe there's a fine line for this; it appears to be far less clear and some people are intentionally cagey when it comes to their views on race. Is there an acid test for racism? What is the relationship between racism and white supremacy? Do the two overlap perfectly?

"Only women can get pregnant."
"Men can get pregnant."
I think both sentences are true. I think gender neutral language like pregnant people is fine, but such speech should not be compelled imo. It should not be that big of a deal if someone uses the term pregnant women. Blind people should not take offense to a politician saying "can't you see?", and someone with one arm should not be offended if they hear someone use the plural 'arms'.
I do not like how RBG's quotes were edited by the ACLU of all people to make the language gender neutral. You don't edit someone's words after they're dead, and especially a group like the ACLU who are supposed to be and used to be staunch supporters of free speech.

Yup we've been over this already if I'm a racist for using that term then the NAACP must be racist for having the term in their name after all it stands for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. So are they racists?
I agree. Also, plenty of black people use the term CPT, which means coloured people time. Some are offended by the term coloured people, of course, but you're certainly not a racist for using it.

He's not against the police in every situation and he doesn't fly the pride flag with the black and brown stripes added to it. Massive racist confirmed.

For me - few things beat the PC use of genderless terms - when it' s completely uncalled for - to wit -
"Pregnant people".
