I’m not from the USA but I have noticed that there is a religious extreme there. A good portion wants to have a theocracy. A minor portion, such as the Westboro Baptist church and this Pat (he is also of the southern baptist flavor) desire to kill homosexuals.
They tend to dehumanise the people they don’t like.
I have seen videos of ISIS tying up a person for being a homosexual to a chair and pushing him off a building. 2-3 y ago?

They were claiming that the Tutsi’s were working for satan, were demons, etc. Some of them were using the radio to spread such hate. When you dehumanize another group, it makes it easier to convince your soldiers to hate them and kill them.
There is the case of the 1890 to 1918 period armenian genocide. This was a ethnocleasing-religious cleansing attempt. Apparently, at some point, turks started to spread the message that christians had no soul. I don’t know whether that was believed or not.

I haven’t understood how is it that the USA allows such hate speech to be spread.
