Perhaps they believed that the children are 100% that of the father.

So perhaps, Jesus is not a half human-half god thing for the ancient christians.

That is what they believed about kids, yes - but, the reason that jesus birth is a magical thing was to fulfill a misinterpretation of a jewish prophecy.

Sex was regarded as dirty because of a sub-current of gnostic belief, people who felt that they were trapped here in this prison world in their prison bodies, sex being the prime example of the filthiness of flesh.

There where alot of things that jesus became that jesus wasn't to the first jesusists. You can blame paul™ and the gentiles for that. Heaven, hell, immortal souls, demigod saviors. All that noise was service to a target market.

Therefore, Jesus was either a woman or a turkey.

Suck on THAT, god-botherers.

I do remember reading in National Geographic about a certain snake reproducing this way in the desert. That was 30 y ago.
I immediately thought of the Jesus story.

I used to believe that myth as a kid. But once I started learning about human biology I knew that myth was impossible in reality.

Which prophecy? I know that there is a line about the messiah and that he  is suppose to be from the line of David and Solomon.

Matthew 1:1 gives a long list of begats and claims that Jesus is the son of Joseph and so, Jesus is from the line of David and Solomon.
Luke 3.23 does the same thing. The lists given by Matthew and Luke are not the same.
But Matthew 1:18 and Luke 1:27 claim that it was a virgin birth, therefore, Joseph is not the father.

Mark makes no such list. Mark does not mention the father of Jesus but does mention Mary. It mentions that James, Joses, Juda are Jesus’s brother and that Jesus has sisters.
There isn’t anything about a virgin birth in Mark.

John 1:44 mentions that the father of Jesus is Joseph.
John 6:42 mentions that the father of Jesus is Joseph.
John doesn’t name the mother of Jesus.
There isn’t anything about a virgin birth in John.

This gives me evidence that christianity is a merged religion of 2 or more sects. One group wanted Joseph to be the father bc of the OT line about the messiah being in the line of David and Solomon.
Another group disliked the idea of sex.

Yes, I have noticed that a portion of the books are from Paul.

13 of the 27 (#6 to #18) books are from Paul the Roman in the New testament. That’s 48%.
Probably, some more of it is from him as well.

RE: Jesus had no parents
Paul makes no mention of Jesus life in terms of his sayings, miracles, place of birth, or events of the gospels.  Apologists respond that Paul was giving spiritual advice through his letters and expected his audience to already know the tales of Mark.  Sceptics ask what better advise than Jesus' own teachings?  And add that gentiles in Paul's audience would be unlikely to know the story and teachings of Jesus, especially since Mark was written after the letters of Paul.

RE: Jesus had no parents
Samuel, isaiah, and jeremiah.

The notion that a virgin will give birth and that this person will be the davidic successor in the flesh to reinstate god's kingdom on earth. Yes, there are two, the point of both being to place jesus in that line of succession. We think that mark left it out because both were troublesome, even then. Hell...by that point, they weren't really required anymore..either. They were no longer jews. Apocalyptic jews still existed, and they were still waiting for the hebrew hammer to be born so they could curbstomp the rest of us and install a permanent davidic theocracy. None of that, btw, was going to be a good pitch to a gentile...but, to a very interesting extent, it's actually what paul™ believed. Jesus being raised was an indication that the promised end of the world had come, and the beginning of the next, on earth, immediately. He was..effectively, expecting a great battle to be fought in his life - and he knew the winner...and that's who's side he'd be on.

-but, again, the sex thing ...not really. The filthiness of flesh in general was not an idea that they came up with - it was something that their target market already believed. They were pitching christianity to gnostics and stoics. The kindgom had not come, and would be in another world, a purer world. The world of greek myth..full of immortal souls being rewarded and punished - an alien concept to jesus-the-real-boy or the ot. Not at all what the ot prophecies were referring to.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Also, that should be Paul the jew.
I can't find the edit button otherwise, I would change it.
