I mean, if we're picking and choosing celebs..wish he would have.  Something tells me that kirk wouldn't have been quite as much of a shitlord.

I think that Bill Shatner would have been an amazing President!!

I believe that that would be called damning with faint praise.  Hehe

And yes, he's from the "People's Republic of Canuckistan", so he can't be prexy.

I always felt that was a silly rule.  Most countries don’t require their head of state to be a natural born citizen. Seems like you’re cutting yourselves off from a huge pool of potential candidates.

Considering the people that do run for the office here, we would be better off to import someone from somewhere else. It seems we have run out of decent choices.

I suspect that the original intent was to keep a person from the UK out, presuming that local talent would be more loyal, or something?

Possibly. Time for a change, at any rate.

Said the foreigner. Wink

Canadia is the odd man out on this one in the new world..it's almost like we all had something in common in our relationship with europe, which had, for reference, seen agents of one country install leaders in another who were expressly loyal to their own instead of the country they lead, up to and including kings.

Thinking about it today, I doubt it does much of anything, what with the majority of our politicians being globalists of one stripe or another (no matter what they tell the rubes who vote for them). If I were to change it, I'd say that a person from anywhere could be president here, so long as all of their money lived inshore.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The first president of Ireland was half Spanish and born in the US. Wasn’t an issue.

We had to include a clause for our own first presidents....seeing as how they were recently british.
