Don't they know that Lowering the Costs of Insulin is pro-life?

They are pro-money, too. If they legislate huge profits for businesses, some of that filters back into their coffers. I seem to recall that a simple and extremely inexpensive production process was developed by some high school kids in Australia. At least, I think it was insulin (and Oz). But then there would be fierce resistance for importation to the US.

Nearly 100 years ago, the three inventors of the process extract and purify insulin were awarded a patent, which they promptly sold to the University of Toronto for $1 each, their idea being that insulin was so vitally important that they viewed it as a gift to the world.
Insulin is already cheap to produce - it costs about six dollars to produce one dose of insulin. It was never intended to be a money machine.

Did you mean a vial? Insulin doses vary per individual needs.
BTW, 100 years ago was beef and pork derived insulin, no longer produced.
