Funnily enough after I made my initial comment about wanting SSI to come through, I get a call from Social Security telling me my SSI has been approved and I have three months worth of paychecks coming to pay for room and board here and to have a little extra spending money. This is the best Christmas ever!

So glad to learn that TJ, hope you have great Xmas.

A similar thing happened to me with my age pension. Took a couple of months to come through but was backdated to the date I lodged my claim.

Yeah, and you're an anti-dentite.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Naughty

The older I get the more I realize that my health is all that's really important.

You're not fooling anyone. Everybody knows you just want your prostate checked. Hilarious

Haven't been checked since I turned the big 4-0 couple years ago, but I should probably get around to it.

Well yair, it's like money:

If I have my druthers I'd druther be healthy and financially OK, than poor and in bad health.

As far as my health goes, I have couple of conditions which are only fatal if untreated.

My darling mum was a hypochondriac. We used to joke that whatever killed mum wouldn't be serious. That's what actually happened. Mum had diverticulitis. From time to time she would get a bleed. Because of her age, it couldn't be resolved by surgery. It was always resolved by giving her transfusions until the bleed stopped. At  a month from her ninety third birthday she got another bleed. Mum decided she'd had enough and refused treatment and died the next day, peacefully in a morphine coma. That will do me, although I'm not sure I want o reach ninety. Like the morphine bit though.
